Gonna rock my BTB in a bit. With the Mustang Micro.Rumbling quietly tonight, I guess.
Half the Rumble. All the quiet. (Seriously it needs a true Rumble setting!)

Good news, GP. Enjoy. By the way -- is Florida completely open now? No restrictions? In all seriosity, I have a gig tomorrow from 9 to 12. That's 9 A.M. to noon. Jazz brunch. Semi-outdoor venue. Prolly gonna go with the Les Paul 5er >R200c just 'cos I can.![]()
TBH, IDK. Masks are still required at some places; distancing still being practiced. Most clubs can't put enuff butts in enuff seats to pay a band and pay's been tight even b4 the shutdown.Good news, GP. Enjoy. By the way -- is Florida completely open now? No restrictions?
Congrats first off! I would think the 500 should be able to hold it’s own, I’d definitely try it out first before deciding if you need the extension cabinet-I’m in that process right now also. As for anything else, really it just depends on if there’s a need for any effects in the songs. Compression can be nice, but is bass/amp dependent as well. And the Rumble has a built in limiter/compressor already to handle the task of controlling spikes, so for that purpose a pedal one isn’t necessary.OK, Rumblers, had an audition with a couple of guitarists/keyboardists (both play both). It went incredibly well, even though I am clearly the weak link. It was the first time any of us met. Played about 10 songs and some just felt really good. We're all excited about this. I'm incredibly impressed with the other musicians and almost wondering why they are willing to accept me, but we all got along really well right away, and are all close enough in age to know what we want (I'm 61 as is one of the other guys. The third is 55).
Funny story - one of the other guys and I grew up about 10 minutes from each other on Long Island and know some of the same musicians from that music scene. And we met each other here in Colorado Springs.
My Studio 40 barely kept up during our rehearsal, so I'm going to need something bigger and thinking I want a Rumble 500. Besides the amp, what else should I be thinking about? This is really the first time I'll be playing in a serious band. Format is classic rock (Tom Petty/Bad Co./Police/Bowie/U2/Stones, etc.). Should I be thinking about a compression peddle (and why), other effects? Should I consider a stand? And if I want to daisy chain my 2 amps, what cable do I need?
Thanks in advance for any input.

! That's the problem with such a subtle effect, and I'm the farthest thing from an expert on it.)

Hello my fellow Rumblers,
For the past several months, I have been enjoying vicariously the exploits of our own @GonePlaid and his gig reports. Well, I finally have a gig report of my own; our first since the lockdowns cancelled all our engagements last year.
Our Blues/Rock power trio performed last night at a bar & grill in New Caney, TX, on northeast outskirts of the Houston area. The event was well-attended; and the friendly patrons and great staff really enjoyed our music.

In the pic, you see my Rumble Stage 800 and 2x10 extension cab supplying the deep low-end vibes. It performed beautifully; as did my Jaguar bass. I gave my ‘78 P the night off after practicing with the Jag earlier in earlier in the week; but, it was standing by just in case. The BL is kinda old school, with tube amps. Here he’s using an EVH into a Mesa cab; but, there’s both a Mesa and Orange head standing by.
It was really nice to get back out there after so long.

Congrats on that. I hope to get back out there myself before too long. I'm really happy for you guys who are able to get back out there and get after it.Hello my fellow Rumblers...

Congrats on hooking up in a band - nothing like playing with others! I have a 500c and can attest that it will serve you well for classic rock - and it can get LOUD! I'd suggest if you like the effects you're dialing up on your Studio 40, just run it through a new (or used) 500c via daisy chain. Folks, I may be overstepping my authority here but, @Droopy_TX you are now member #1111 in the Fender Rumble Club.
