Fender Rumble Club

If You are wondering the r100 is gigable :)

Record from rehearsal (sorry for the crap playing, we just rewrote the song for trio setup and haven't played together for half a year :D).
Tascam was on one side of the room, R100 on the other. Drum set was in between them.

Volume was kind of mid size bar gig levels (1-200 ppl).

A question for you ex spurts before I waste hours researching---what is the actual quality of a Fender 8" speaker, ya think? I mean compared to an Eminence 8"? Y'all think a speaker swap would change the sound of my 25? I am betting the Fender speaker is junk...the Eminence is not expensive.

I'm certainly no ex spurt, but there are several Rumble Speaker Replacements linked on our Rumble Club Wiki page for perusal. Not sure I recall an 8' replacement, though.

Perhaps Rumbler @iagtrplyr will pop in and regale you with his 8" Ampeg speaker replacement that he often mentions in the Combo Club.

ps: Some R15 & R25 users find that adding a little acoustic fiber fill in the port or behind the speaker helps the sound quite a bit, as mentioned in the Rumble Modifications section.

Picked a little 15 up as the “home” amp. I keep my “gig” amp at school. I was trying to play through the Katana Air at the insistence of my wife, but *bleck.*

Welcome to TalkBass and the Rumble Club, Craig. I find your post quite interesting, but the "thousand words" in the picture are inaccessible to me. Can you please try posting it, perhaps a different way, again?

There's no way I'm gonna shoehorn an 8' speaker in this cabinet! :D
I will pull the cab apart this afternoon and see what may be printed on the factory speaker. Stay tuned!

True, I have gigged with the Rumble 100 many times. But there are times where it was hard to hear or working too hard. I think it is really dependant on the room.

In hindsight, I would probably choose a bigger amp if I were playing gigs often.

(I've had two gigs in the last 13 months, lucky me!)

huh, I thought that might be a problem. Here it is—just a little ole Rumble 15.

That was very informative. From what I've listened to, the 15 inch sounds the best because it's the most clear and articulate.
The difference between the 12 and 15 isn't that big but I could still hear it. Good to know for future upgrades :)
I found the same, but the 10's are my favorite because of that extra low-mid beef.:)

I just sold my 200c and 40c (and Ampeg BA-108 and Vox AC4TV and some other gear) to a local independent guitar store here in Prescott. The Rumbles weren't dual voltage and I wasn't using the other two, so 'adios'. I shipped all of the basses I wanted to keep to France. When I get there, what am I gonna buy?

A 200 combo and a 210 cab to set it on! :bassist:

NOTE: I sold those Rumbles to him at 60 cents on the dollar so he could make some money at the resale price. Neither amp was gigged. I bought the 40 days before I decided to move to a 220vac country. It's basically new. The 200 is clean. The plastic Fender logo has been removed from both. Cheap piece of c**p on a great amp. Will remove them on the new ones, too. PM me if you'd like contact info. I don't know if the owner has had time to post them to Reverb and eBay yet.

Yes! That's it. @Craig Orndorff, you are now member #1344 in the Fender Rumble Club. Congratulations and welcome to TalkBass in general and to The Club in particular. Put that number in your TB Signature for safe keeping. And check out the Rumble Club Wiki page for all assembled Rumbling wisdom and knowledge.

Please tell us a bit about yourself, such as your bass experience in general and your Rumble journey in particular. Whatever your story, you're bound to fit right in here, since we have all kinds. But, we all love to ... ...

Rumble On!

Absolutely a great choice. That’s what I’m Rockin’!

Yes, if we had bigger gigs I'd add another r100 as a stand+backup+more SPL. :)

I'm just curious, why are you moving overseas?

On an unrelated note I can sign up for my first vaccine dose on May 17th!:woot:

God I can't wait to be vaccinated so I can choose to go nowhere instead of being forced to go nowhere.:roflmao:

Also I might have found a Stage 800. So today is a good news kind of day!

Congrats on both! Got my second dose over 2 weeks ago, so I'm reasonably safe now. And hope things work out for you on the Stage 800. Can't wait to try mine out when we have our next outdoor rehearsal/gig. Seems like it won't be for a couple of weeks, though.

Thanks! Good luck with the next gig! I imagine the Stage will do well.
