Fender Rumble Club

Here’s my Rumble 500 at a gig in November next to my old Washburn xb400 and .... my shoe. I have a super simple rig for shows but I will be adding a pedalboard soon

Can I be a member??

Welcome, utter! Nice simple rig. @utterlybored, you are now member #1346 in the Fender Rumble Club. Congratulations and welcome to TalkBass in general and to The Club in particular. Put that number in your TB Signature for safe keeping. And checkout our Rumble Club Wiki page of all assembled Rumbling wisdom and knowledge.

Please tell us a bit about yourself, such as your bass experience in general and your Rumble journey in particular. I'm sure you'll fit right in here 'cause we have all kinds. And we all love to ... ...

Rumble On!

Reference JakobT's cabinet stuffing mod---So I bought a couple bags of Poly-fil Premium Polyester Fiberfill - 12 Ounce | Hobby Lobby | 609362
and stuffed the 25-it took 1 1/4 bags. I can say it sounds noticeably better, especially at WFO. I experimented with covering the port hole with duct tape and couldn't tell any difference between "ported" and sealed. I suppose that's because a 25 is so wittle in every way, or I just can't hear the difference. Anyway, well worth the short drive and 7 bucks worth of pillow stuffing. I still want to replace this speaker. It is most certainly crappy compared to, well, anything costing more than 20 bucks.

Thinking of getting a new amp. Found a hybrid bugera and I might just pull a tigger on it... Sorry Rumblers :(

Be sure to come over to the Combo Club as well then...

Fixed it for you, JP.

Kat, be sure it has an FX Loop and you can chain it to the Rumble for bigger sound!

Also, Kat, just be aware that Bugera/Behringer advertises inflated wattage ratings compared to other manufacturers, so it may not actually be as loud as you might expect. Good luck.

Thanks for the fix.....too early after a late night I guess. But at least it was visiting with new friends and was able to lobby him a bit to get his Martin back out someday and play again. Apparently he played quite well and toured a bit 40 years ago....he knows how good he used to be, so is reluctant to re-learn...I will keep after him and have my Rumble and other gear out when he comes over....

Hi Everyone! Has anyone use the Fender Rumble 800HD head with other cabinets or maybe a Fender Rumble 410 cab with another Head. Nothing wrong with my 410 or rumble 115 cabinet extensions. Just looking into different options... thank you everyone in advance
What exactly are you asking for, then? :)
I mean, if you match the ohms and loads correctly then it should be fine, no matter what speaker/combo you use, correct?

Also, rumblers, I have posted a thread in the amps and cabs section, if any of you are interested in chiming in. Thanks everyone! :)

My Rumble 100 likes its new partner, a Sire V7, I just got on Wednesday. I was so busy, I didn't bring it to practice on Wednesday. I plugged it into my Rumble 25 for only 5 minutes on Thursday.
I played it at our Friday gig in Englewood, Fl, but there was an unusual challenge early on as I got acclimated to the new bass.
If the weather is good, the bands play behind the indoor restaurant/bar in a shaded courtyard area that has a large tree and large umbrellas/canopy. At our 7 p.m. start time, we get on stage and there a spot of direct sunlight hitting the middle third of the stage. My shiny new bass is reflecting into the audience. Probably the bridge, pickguard and tuners. So I tried leaning forward a bit and holding the bass forward so the reflection is on the dance floor area, but that was a bit difficult so I turned sideways with my right shoulder facing the audience. (So much for trying have good stage presence). I knew after about 10 to 15 minutes the sun would drop below the top of the wall and it would be OK.
Overall we had one of our best crowds ever at this place we have been playing for 3 years.
The band got a lot of compliments and a guy complimented me for my playing and singing. So it was a good night.
The next day we were playing (136 miles east of Englewood) in the middle of nowhere, at a fish camp on Lake Okeechobee, (technically in Martin County) noon to 4pm with canopy tent over us. That is one hot gig - temperature wise. We played there at the end of May last year as our first gig following the COVID shutdown.
The Sire bass is really nice. Here is a photo from Englewood.

If you keep the 100 you'll still be one of us. ;)

There's a lot of cool stuff out there (I spent all yesterday looking at it lol). It's most important that you end up with gear that's going to work for you. Good luck on your amp journey!
