Fender Rumble Club

??? I must be missing something. Where'd that Serial No. come from? Is it supposed to be from the Rumble 150? If so, there must be another decoder somewhere for modern amps made after 2000, 'cause the all-tube 300 watt Custom Shop Rumble is the only one made in the '90s.

:drool::drool:(as long as I ain't gots to move it)

I'm so stoked by the tone of my Rumble 100 amp. Its not the. loudest on the block but its really got a great tone. I mean its loud enough for me and probably most of the small places I play in too. I wonder if it's the 12 inch speaker that sounds that good. I've got the 500/115 set up too and its very loud but the tone doesn't compare to the R100. Anyone else find this to be the case with their experience with the 100?

... ..., after zooming on the rear pic I see this- 01/2013

I just realized I started posting here but never asked for a membership number. Could I get me one of those?

Anyways I ended up with a Rumble 500 a while back because I love Fender and the price was really decent. Finally started playing with a band again about a month ago once I got my Rona shot. I took it out to it's first gig last weekend and I gotta say...I'm impressed by how LOUD it is. We did an outdoor block party gig and I don't think I ever moved the volume past 10 o clock. I wish I'd have run the amp through the PA just to have a bit tighter sound overall with the rest of the band but all in all I was very impressed.

The tougher thing to figure out is how to get the tones I want out of it. We play a pretty wide spread of music and while I do appreciate that I can just hit the vintage button for the stuff that needs a ton of low and not much else, the contour button for funky stuff, and the bright knob for the rock songs that need a pick and some more attack...finding an overall tone that works with my basses that I like has been harder than expected. My P bass blends just fine but my Tukay sounds like barky garbage and my OLP stingray just sounds...okay.

Anyone had any luck getting good tones with some of these more modern, brighter, hotter basses?

Good luck! JC splits his signal into two GK heads, one is his dirty channel that has a proco rat on it and the other is his clean channel with a sansamp and fuzz pedal and some other goodies. To get a similar-ish effect, I've had some moderate success with either my Stingray style bass or a G&L L2000 run through a sansamp, then cranking the treble and dialing back the mids and bass a bit. Turn on Bright. Gain is noonish or back a little, overdrive is on and the distortion is around noon or a bit higher. It's a pretty hard tone to cop with a Rumble and there's a lot of tweaking that will go into making it sound passable.

Yes, sir, nabil, sir. Just show us a photo of your Rumble(s) and I'll be happy to bestow a Club number upon you!

Surely someone with similar basses here can give you some advice on this.

The keyword here is «like». Since we don’t really know what you’re looking for tone-wise, it’s hard to give specific advice. You simply need to experiment with different settings, and perhaps pay a visit to the Rumble Tone Pool. By the way, my Musicman Sabre sounds great through a Rumble, and so did my old Musicman S.U.B., so it’s not an impossible task. :)

I would also remind that the Gain input is a variable pad. With active/hot basses, dial it completely counterclockwise (what looks like OFF).

I have a bigger Markbass rig, but I love my 100 too. Great amp. 2 years of gig service, still a faithful rehearsal amp. I’ve found with vintage and a tilt-back wedge stand, I can squeeze a little extra oomph out of it.

BTW, did you decide on the “100w w/ PA support” dilemma? Or does that remain to be seen?

Well my replacement for the rumble 100 came to me today. Here is the comparison

I just wanted to say thank you to all of the rumble club members. You have all been kind and welcoming as well as very informative, so thank you for all the info and funny stories :)

My rumble 100 will be up for sale! Im sure someone will find it to be very useful.

Lookin' good, there, nabil! @nabilhuakbar, you are now member #1355 in the Fender Rumble Club. Congratulations and welcome. Put that number in your TalkBass Signature for safe keeping. And checkout your Rumble Club Wiki page for all assembled Rumbling wisdom and knowledge.

For example, take a look at the Rumble Club TONE Pool section where you'll find Settings for Flat Response, which is always a good place to start, and the TONE Pool list of different settings, itself. Perhaps some of those may help you.

You've told us a bit about yourself, and I know you also have a Fender Bassman amp. Anything else you'd care to share would also be welcome. Rest assured that you'll fit in here just fine, 'cause we have all kinds here. But we all love to ... ...

Rumble On!

Too late, I went to town with my sledgehammer. That thing was built tougher than I expected.
I kept the Fender logo though, I’ll stick it on something somewhere.

What a bloody waste!! Just because it's convenient for the company, this crap should not be allowed. A repairable amplifier is now destroyed pile of garbage destined for the landfill instead of being repaired.

Sorry, moderators. I have dismounted from my high horse, now.

I'd like to argue your points.
I can't.
