Fender Rumble Club

While I enjoy the various presets on my stage 800 I would at times like to use the combo amp as a simple power amp for some various character DI and preamp pedals as well. What would be the best way to use them with the Stage?
Perhaps plugging into the loop return, or to use a preset of say a studio direct input model?

Greetings, tj! Welcome to TalkBass in general and to the Rumble Club in particular. Please show us a photo of your Stage and join The Club. ... .....
You're quite welcome. We look forward to seeing your Rumble right here for official Club induction. ... ... aware of the Rumble LT25, Studio & Stage sub-thread of The Rumble Club created specifically for discussions of these intriguing amps? Great place for your future queries, full of very knowledgeable and helpful Stage & Studio users. .
tj, I'll give ya my 2 cents. ... ...
iii. You should post a pic of your Stage 800 amp and get a Rumble Club membership number.
d. This is really a good question for The Club's Rumble LT25, Studio 40 & Stage 800 sub-thread, ... ... .
... ... you may find posting such tech questions to the LT25, Studio & Stage Sub-Thread more productive.

But, please do, by all means, post a pick of your Rumble here to get a Club membership number. .
Yo, tj! .... We still wanna see a photo of your Rumble for a membership number, please! ;) ... ... .

Glad the weather cooperated for you. We're s'posed to be outside under a portable tent tonight(the crowd will be under permanent shelter-outdoor bar/grill). We'll be watching the "future radar". Prolly gonna wind up inside.
We did. The party-lotta smokers-stayed outside. Very light crowd. They like us there, but non-partiers didn't know we'd be inside. Paid rehearsal-sorta.

Taking inspiration from @Ravenh4wk my Rumble 210 and 115 cabinets will be getting some custom grilles...

(Yes, my mitre joints measure about 44°. Measure twice, cut once! However, they are epoxied and doweled, so they should hold nicely.)

I played an actual gig yesterday outdoors yesterday with a Fender Rumble 500 combo with Fender Rumble 115 extension cab (my setup in photo below). This setup simply sounds amazing. The 500 combo is great by itself, but a lot better with the extension cab than without IMO. It adds a bit of bottom end that fills things out a bit more. I didn't need to go past like 3 on the volume and I was plenty loud and clear. I love the Rumbles!

This event is called "porchfest" and we played on a porch with a space about 50 yard deep in front of us and 1 1/2 x wider than that. This thing filled the whole space and cut through. I was not playing through the PA, just the rumbles. Very happy customer here.

Very cool, Juggy! Please show us what cloth you chose to put on them. I'd buy a couple of your grille frames, if the shipping to the U.S. wouldn't be so prohibitive!

I almost bestowed another Rumble number on you, Jug, untill I found I'd already given you #1119. But, since you haven't put it in your TB Signature it took some research to find it. :smug:

Friday night I told the guitarist, who plays a few songs on keys, not to use the keys because of the rain....then our debut Saturday at a distillery/club out in the country was going great until a windblown rain storm wiped us out and an unusual complainer after the storm.
I previously mentioned the rain during setup and breaking down in Englewood on Friday, well the keyboard got wet during the breakdown and may be history according to my bandmate.
Saturday afternoon, I drive down this 2-lane road I am familiar with south of town, turn off onto a dirt road driveway for a ways and go around some bushes and see the drummer's trailer with the band equipment. I walk around a trailer on the property and its a huge stage that folds out from a big flatbed, I was flabbergasted. The place had an outside bar and seating and was covered by something like a canvas sail and they had a nice, but small, indoor bar with a few tables that is the tasting room for the spirits they brew there. But, I couldn't believe they had this big stage out there. A big mistake the drummer made was bringing a third 1X18 sub, which we setup on ground level in front of the stage (he only puts his bass drum in the subs). The QSC columns went on the stage. We were scheduled to do three sets, but in the middle of the second set it started raining and then it was blowing like mad right into our faces and everything was getting wet. I pulled all my stuff back and we pulled the columns back, the guitarist next to me left to get some big plastic bags to the cover the speakers. I pulled his acoustic guitar back and moved his multi effects pedal. The three subs out front got rained on big time.
After about 20 minutes the storm passed and we started wiping stuff down and getting ready to pack up.
So I am near the corner of the stage and this guy, who looked like he was in his 30s, says to me, "You cut your first set short and took a 30 minute break." And then he just walked off. He wasn't the owner of the place, but they had a band sponsor listed on Facebook, but I looked online and he wasn't the main person who owns the company that sponsored us. We didn't take a 30 minute break and we did our usual set. Some of the people there follow the band and the place was packed. We do over 100 shows a year in about 8 or 9 counties in Florida and this guy is just looking at his watch apparently.
After packing up, we went to our rehearsal room and off loaded the equipment and put the air conditioner on and some fans. The drummer/BL asked one guitarist if we should cancel the Sunday show and he said "Yes"
I told the drummer if he didn't use the third sub we would have it now and could use the 15/horn speakers we have, but he decided to cancel the Sunday show and let everything dry out.
My R100 got a bit wet and when I got home I took the grill off and there were just a few drops on the speaker, which I carefully wiped off. My EBMM Stingray 5 got wet, but not too bad. I tried my stuff out this afternoon and everything was fine. On Wednesday we have rehearsal so we will see how the PA did. We have a gig on Thursday, Friday and two on Saturday, but the Saturday afternoon show is on a big stage with PA.

Dang! That kinda s__ks . Hope all your gear survived. There's always one a-hole at every gig. Usually some nimrod who has nothing better to do than bitc...er, gripe.
As mentioned, our outside gig got moved indoors(Bikes were parked under the tent so we couldn't have set up anyway). It is Florida so I always have some bigass trash bags in my gear bag to cover stuff if needed.

I had to come out of eternal lurking mode to post about another issue and now that I am back I have to admit being jealous for years about these coveted club membership numbers. So here is my 500, one of three Rumbles currently in the house…

Aw, man! What took ya so long? Well, yer here now, so ... @AWMN, you are now member #1395 in the Fender Rumble Club. Congratulations and welcome to TalkBass in general (again?) and to The Club in particular. Put that number in your TB Signature for safe keeping. And check out your Rumble Club Wiki page, the repository of all Rumbling wisdom and knowledge.

So, 3 Rumbles, eh? That puts you in the top 10% of The Club, with most of us having just one or two! But there are some with 4, 5 or more!! How about sharing a little bit more about yourself, such as your bass experience in general and your Rumble journey(s) in particular. No matter your situation, I'm sure you'll fit right in here since we have all kinds. But the main thing we all share is a love to ... ...

Rumble On!

I just ordered one of these for my bass (~$150) so at least if something like that were to happen to me I can shove the bass inside and it’ll stay dry and protected. You would probably choose one of their other cases if your bass is a standard scale. Plus I love that it has wheels!

Thank you! 35 years of not terribly serious playing in quite a variety of different styles and genres. After years of heavy old GK and SWR stuff I bought my first Rumble 100 a few years back based on info from this group. Bought a Rumble 500 more recently to keep up with loud guitars and drums in the latest venture. Acquired a first generation Rumble 100 (big heavy thing with the red LEDs) for free that one of my kids uses now. Why Rumble? It’s entirely the simple formula of cheap, light, and loud. They sound pretty decent alone but I keep mine fairly neutral and drive it with a Tech21 Bass Fly Rig (v2). I just use the amp controls to tune a bit to the room. I have moved pretty much exclusively to short scale basses (mainly for ergonomics) and am favoring a Sterling MM SS at the moment. I have a JMJ Mustang but I can’t get into the thick neck. Might sell that one at some point. A few squirreled away in cases and a long line of others bought and sold. All flatwound strings for me. I wish I had discovered shorties and flats 30 years ago.

So, a casual bassist out for grins, huh? I love it! I resemble that remark! Ooo! Ooo! Please, post a pic of your V1 Rumble with red lights ablaze, please! Ooo! Ooo! I love the sound and look of those things! One of the guitarists used a little V1 Rumble 25 at a jam a couple years ago and it was an amazingly soulful lead amp!

Here you go… I think the v3 sounds a whole lot better and weighs maybe a third but my kid likes the “big amp” factor!

That works out great 'cause younger folks can handle the weight a whole lot easier than us. ... uh, more mature people.

(sigh) I remember when I slogged around a heavy solid state 15" 100 watt combo amp all over the country, and the Bahamas, back in the '70s without a second thought. Those were the days!

Anyone run into a situation where a pot stops working? I’ve had my Rumble 200c from when they first came out and recently the bass pot just does nothing. Stays at noon no matter where you turn the knob. Are single pots replaceable?

Long time, no see, Lync. Welcome back. :D

On your Rumble Club Wiki page, in the Rumble Modifications section, there's a link to some posts here about "Cleaning Scratchy Pots & Switches with Deoxit D5" and a link to a thread about a "Volume Pot Replacement" with lots of good advice, including the very knowledgeable TB member, agedhorse. You might try cleaning before replacement.

I thought I had read elsewhere that the pots were sealed. This gives me hope and Lord knows many "broken" electronics have been saved over the years from contact cleaner. I will try and report back.
