Fender Rumble Club

I have one of the Rumbles that probably gets the least love here in our little club, the mighty Rumble 15. It's actually a great little amp other than the unworthy speaker. Anything past halfway and it rattles. I've pulled the speaker out and kept it away from the amp and it is definitely the speaker. Yesterday, I ordered a Pyle PPA8 8" speaker. It's a 200 watt RMS woofer with a 60-5000 Hz frequency range. I also have the 100 and 200 Rumbles for stage and home recording studio, but the 15 gets the most playtime. I'll give an update after it gets here and is installed. For $33, it should be a worthwhile investment in a great little amp.

I gave my R100 stack a try at cranked up volume. The second R100 adds volume and depth; I liked it. It certainly gets loud enough for my aging ears. I`ve been fortunate to play with drummers and guitarists who know restraint and want to protect their hearing as well.
I couldn`t hear much difference between the lined and unlined Rumble. I`m not going to rush out to line the second one.

Same experience. With hard hitting drummer/loud band, kind of a "just enough when crancked" situation.
Luckily our drummer likes/has to hear me, so we do a lot of dynamics :)

After spending years listening to people praise the Rumble I have finally joined the tribe. I picked up a gently used Rumble 100 at a local shop for $175. I have been a dedicated Hartke user for over 20 years but thought I would give the Rumble a shot. I took it to my stupid loud cover band practice last night and it balanced the band just fine. Gain on about 11:00 and master on about 9:00.
People who say the 100 is not loud enough to gig must be in REALLY loud bands…LOL.
I bought it to use with a small jazz combo and can’t wait to use it in that setting.

Welcome! That 100 is surprising, isn't it. Mine get's most of the work.

I will continue to use my Hartke amp and cabs for my big gigs. But this 100 will be in the rotation for a jazz quartet I play with. I may look at the 500 to use for the cover band.

Interesting. And not a single sound for which I have any use.(since @13bass has seen me/our band, he knows whereof I speak). I continue to use the OD circuit as 'MUTE', though w/o a footswitch: I have it on/mute as I set up and plug my cable into the amp b4 I plug it into the bass. All wires/cables are strung and put in place(out from under my feets), then I plug in and tune up the bass. Works for me, no need to change routine.:)

Nice. Some good tones.
The drive on the Rumble I found is actually quite good. I was initially having trouble until I realized there are basically four volume knobs in series and they interact. So your result with the drive section is influenced by the gain and master in relation.

The trouble is that clicking on the drive section drops out some bass, which then you may have to rework the eq. An overdrive pedal which doesn’t kill your bass is much more convenient. Like Darkglass Vintage Microtubes I found, good stuff. But if you have drive always on, the Rumble drive would be fine.

You're right, Trey, the Gain works differently on the Rumbles from most other amps! It's definitely not a volume control. But it interacts with many other controls. See the Rumble Talks section of your Rumble Club Wiki page, where it explain many things about what the Rumbles are and how they work, such as Gain Structure and dialing in the Overdrive. :D
