Fender Rumble Club

Well, my 500 v3 head and 115 cabinet came through again, at my two most recent gigs!
Last weekend was at an upscale restaurant, and last night was at a brewery. Both rooms were extremely live. (The brewery had a two-story-high metal ceiling! ) Skeptics might expect the Rumble to be too warm in these situations, but it was just fine-- gain all the way down, bright on, bass at 9:00, high mids at 2:00, Fender Jazz Bass with Chromes and high action, both pickups and tone at 100%. Beautiful!

Rock, basically. Originals, plus covers which spanned several decades: Dylan, Beatles, Dead, '70s era Beach Boys, New Order, Bruce Hornsby, the Police, the Cure, Eddie Vedder, the National... Plus one Muddy Waters tune.

Yep both gigs this past weekend had folks (including staff and the manager) complimenting us on both good tunes and that they could talk and socialize without having to scream to be heard. My Warmoth P bass and Rumble 100 alone was more than enough.

Yep. I hardly ever take the 200c out any more. It's 'only' 40W(w/o external spkr), but ~15# more. I'm somewhat amazed how well the 100 covers the places we play.

It was 7ender Monday today in Ensenada. Just the MIM Guitar factory, (where one of my fretless basses was born). No store, no tours, nada. Just stand on the sidewalk and take a selfie.

I have Fender Rumble 40 and I sometimes use headphone jack at the back to play.

Currently I use AKG-k240 but sound comes out too distorted and I need to turn up the volume quiet a bit.

However, I am not sure if the problem is headphones or headphone jack on the amp not being good.

I was planning to upgrade my headphones to Sennheider HD-600, but I would like to know if anyone tried these headphones with this amp before spending the money.

I don't know why your headphones wouldn't be just fine with your Rumble. The headphone jack is 32 ohm minimum, so the 55 ohm AKG-k240 should be fine. A couple of other Rumblers here use and like them. Are there any other sources you've tried your headphones with? Or any other headphones you've tried your Rumble with?

Please tell us a bit about yourself, such as your bass experience in general and your Rumble journey in particular. Whatever your situation you're going to fit right in here since we have all kinds. But we all love to ... ...

Hej, Thanks for the very warm welcome

I have no issues with AKG-k240 on my computer listening anything basically. I also have ATH-M50X, which seems to handle better but I do not like closed headphones really.

Sennheiser HD-600 says it is 300 Ohm, would that require a headphone preamp to boost the sound? I don't know much about the Ohms etc to be honest, just curious from research I made since "Internet" says you need to boost anything above 100 Ohm.

I actually had my Rumble 40 for around 4 years now, and it is a very good home practice amp. I am sure I have not brought the best out of the Rumble I have to admit (used to just keep it at a single setting), since it has all the nice options. But recently I started play more and more with settigs etc
