Fender Rumble Club

Unfortunately, the Norwegian accent is completely devoid of the sexiness of the French accent, the authority of the German or the sultriness of the Spanish. It just sounds vaguely ridiculous. :)

Errr….

But as my dear friend (and Norwegian) used to say….

“Twenty Swedes ran through the weeds…Chased by one Norwegian!” :hyper::hyper:

Great showing in Beijing Olympics- I saw what you did, there!!:woot:

Well, not as ridiculous as that accent, thankfully - but on the other hand that doesn’t actually sound like anything, certainly not Swedish. :) The Norwegian accent sounds a little like the Dutch, though they sound a little better.

Thanks - we do our best. :)

I had the pleasure of a week in Oslo and environs many years ago. One of my favorite cities!!

One day my friend and I were to visit the (excellent) technology museum. We stopped in at one of the two (at the time) Mexican restaurants there. After the museum- we tried the OTHER Mexican restaurant :roflmao::thumbsup:!!

Visiting Nansen and Amundsen’s ship “Fram” and the Oseberg ship museums are still cherished experiences for me.

As was taking the elevator to the top of the Olympic ski jump. :woot::woot::woot: WOW that looks like a very bad idea to launch of of that!!!

Thank you for those kind words. :) And it can’t have been that many years ago, as I notice the ski jump in the pic is the new one, which was completed in 2010. This is the one I grew up with:

I'm attempting to join clubs today, here's my dual Rumble 500C stack (send of top going into return of bottom):

One of them I've had for a few years. I was actually looking for a Rumble 210 for extension, but Guitar Center mistakenly was selling a 500 combo as a 500 head so I got the combo for the price of a cab. It gives me more flexibility with being able to leave one at a practice space but having the ability to have two matched 2x10s at 350 watts a piece.

I also have a Rumble 2x8 cabinet I used with a BAM200 when I feel like lugging 35 pounds out of my basement is just too much (says person who used to lug around 120 pound cabinet).

A-a-aw-righty, then, punky! You've come to the right place. @poppunk, you are now member #1450 in the Fender Rumble Club. Congratulations and welcome. Please put that number in your TalkBass Signature for safe keeping. Then make yourself at home here and on your Rumble Club Wiki page, the repository of all Rumbling wisdom and knowledge.

That's the most awesome stack! Up to 700 watts on tap, with the flexibility you mention. And you can still a cab to each combo to bring it up to 1000 watts, if needed! :woot:

How's about telling us a little bit about yourself, popper, such as your bass experience in general and your Rumble journey in particular. Whatever your situation you're bound to fit right in here, since we have all kinds. But we all share a love to ... ... ...

Rumble On!

Started out as a bass player a long time ago, switched to guitar as a primary a long time ago out of band neccesity. Have been phasing bass back in for a few years, am currently in two bands as a bass player. Have been the main vocalist a lot.

Guitar is tedious sometimes, and I really like trying to lock and hang with a good drummer. I don't play bass like a guitar. I finger pick in one of the two bands.

The skirted 1-10 knobs (the small ones, 7/8-inch across the base, #0054419049, not the common 1-3/16 size) push right on to the Rumble pot shafts. I oriented mine with the mid-point ("5.5") straight up beneath the control label.

I've been thinking of replacing the original Rumble knobs because I also like that Blackface look ...but in looking at the suggested knobs (Fender p/n #0054419049) meant for the "D" shaft makes me wonder. Did the knobs line up correctly "as is" or did you have to physically loosen & rotate the pots to physically get it to align correctly with the mid-point ="5.5"? My thought was that the "D" shaft won't let you just put it on the shaft any ol' way.
On the other hand, the knobs used on the Frontman series amps are also 7/8" across the base and look the same, but they are not a "D" shaft type, so they would allow positioning for correct alignment without repositioning the pots. I have no measurements of both knobs to compare how different (if any) they may be. .....suggestions?

On my R100c the skirted knobs all aligned with 5.5 at 12 0'clock...

Hello, I've been reading the Rumble Club for awhile now and figured it is time i joined. A pic of my rig, I also have a Fender Rumble 100 v1. Pic is with my Geddy Lee Jazz. Love the forum, I have restarted playing bass after a 30 year hiatus (kids, work etc.) but always played guitar (acoustic). Got back into bass during Covid and am now in a good rocking band here in Calgary, Alberta. I love the Stage 800 and have been learning lots from that thread too. Hope I can become a member!
