Fender Rumble Club

Hello, I've been reading the Rumble Club for awhile now and figured it is time i joined. A pic of my rig, I also have a Fender Rumble 100 v1. Pic is with my Geddy Lee Jazz. Love the forum, I have restarted playing bass after a 30 year hiatus (kids, work etc.) but always played guitar (acoustic). Got back into bass during Covid and am now in a good rocking band here in Calgary, Alberta. I love the Stage 800 and have been learning lots from that thread too. Hope I can become a member!View attachment 4595327
Very cool piece of Rush memorabilia. I'm envious. Been a fan since I saw them on the Fly By Night tour.

New Stage 800 owner here. There are, for sure, a dizzying amount of options this amp has.

I have created a whopping one preset for myself. Rockin Peg - direct (no cab sim) - no effects. I dialed back the gain and only slightly boost the bass. Mids and treble "flat" or at least the noon position. What a nice thick and meaty tone! For the band I am going to be playing with soon I think this will be a good setup... Stevie Wonder, old Santana, Steely Dan, etc.

The only slight kerfuffle is the master volume does not taper smoothly for the first 1/8 of a dial from the off position. Turn then, thankfully, low volume with a gradual increase form there. I don't know if anyone else has noticed this as well - or if this might be an issue? Anyway, other than that this thing is a modern marvel!

Attention: Rumble Club Wiki Edit Alert!

Thank you, @Miles_ONeal! Your new Combo Club Membership wiki page is a great idea that I just simply had to steal! And I've linked our new Rumble Club Membership Wiki page to the Membership Lists section of our Rumble Club Wiki page.

Thank you, Miles, for your innovation! :smug:

And, a note to you Rumble combo owners who may not know: The Combo Club here on TalkBass is a fine community of bass combo owners worthy of your consideration. Just please mind your manners there when they go talking about how great their X, Y or even Z combos are. Oh, and our own Rumbler Miles_ONeal has just recently become the New Fearless Leader of The Combo Club and you couldn’t congratulate him better than by posting a pic of your Rumble combo there and requesting a member number, if you don’t already have one. ;)

Reminder: of this Rumble Club Wiki Edit

We have a still-new Rumble Club Membership Wiki page, where you can find your name, and it is linked to your familiar Rumble Club Wiki page.

Thank you, @Miles_ONeal! Your new Combo Club Membership wiki page is a great idea that I just simply had to steal! Thank you again, Miles, for your innovation!

And a note, once again, to you Rumble combo owners who may not know: The Combo Club here on TalkBass is a fine community of bass combo owners worthy of your consideration. Getting the studio ready to start recording again. Everything has a dedicated mic now so no more moving them around so much to record different things. I take the front off the Rumble 100 so I can get the Shure SM57 closer. I did a lot of experimenting, and that is where it sounded best.

You can hear the bass recorded on YouTube at:

Fun tune, nicely done.

On my R100c the skirted knobs all aligned with 5.5 at 12 0'clock...

Cool! If yours are the same correct Fender part# 0054419049, then that's what I needed to hear. According to descriptions of that part#, it said...
"Fits standard "D" Shaft potentiometers (with flat portion of "D" shaft facing 12 O'clock position when potentiometer is turned down to minimal level)."
If I went with that info, that would put the shaft Flat "D" at about 2 o'clock on my amp! And it looks as the pots are keyed on the panel so they are all precisely built in the same position.

I just looked up the part number, and they say they also fit the Fender Super Champ. I have a Super Champ, so I pulled one of the knobs off and it fit the Rumble 100 perfectly. When it was all the way down, it was on 1 and all the way up it stopped at 10 just like it's supposed to. :)

Yup - those are the ones. On mine the flat part of the "D" is at the bottom when the knobs are at the detent and around 1 o'clock or so when at the minimum. I love the look. Good luck.

Thank you both for the verification! That website description threw me off....
No more grumble.... Back to the RUMBLE!

My new Starfire II on it's first gig last night, without my Rumble 100. First first time, went through my sansamp to the board to our pa's. Actually went pretty well, 2 pa's and 2 monitors so I could hear everyone fine, and tone was pretty good through the sansamp. Love my Rumble 100 but as light as it is, the sansamp is lighter! :D:thumbsup:

That's a nice looking bass! Haven't played a short scale bass. May need to see if I can try one out.

I love the Tech21 stuff! I've had several of their bass pedals. I will never be without my Blonde sansamp. I also play guitar, and I ordered a Richie Kotzen RK5v2 last week. It came in super crazy noisy (defective, I'm sure), so I sent it back for an exchange. One of my best bass tones ever was a Tech21 Bass Driver plugged directly into a Bose L1 Model 2. You can also plug yours into the effects return for the feel of the amp and line out to the PA. Or use it as a preamp or possibly in the effects loop for another channel. It is also a good idea to bring a Tech21 pedal to every gig as a backup amp. I always bring the 100 and 200 and leave one in the trunk. Glad it went well.

I use a Tech21 DP-3X Dug Pinnick pedal thru my Rumble 500c...and every other amp I own. It is amazing :bassist:
I GAS for the Dug Pinnick pedal. They always come up when I’m short on cash though. I do have a preamp/drive pedal on order though. It’s a Russian pedal. Obsidian. Not sure how getting a Russian pedal is going to work now with the recent goings on.
Side note, I Daisy chained the new Rumble 200 with my v2 Rumble 150. It shook EVERYTHING. Sounded great, but even at low volume that moves a lot of air.
