Fender Rumble Club

Just to note the day, and coincidentally have been listening to some early Experience music. RIP Noel Redding. Ripped this off a FB page the showed up today.

Kinda funny, my first ever bass amp. I think I paid $200 for it at a pawn shop in 1983. Now they want $899 for it on Reverb. One of the big tubes had a loose socket and it would cut out while I was playing, and I'd have to jiggle it to get the tube to light up again. The thing was heavy, too, but I guess most stuff was back then. I do love my Rumbles, but this brings back fond memories.

The Anti-Rumble! Heavy and expensive, for the time. But a great sounding, and looking, Fender and looks to be in great shape. Part of the Rumble's legendary heritage.

Still in your possession, MrB? Either way, it qualifies you for induction into the Fender Bassman Club.

Oh no, I don't have that anymore. It's on the list of things I wish I did still have. Also, that pic I posted is from Reverb where that amp is being sold in Muscle Shoals, AL. I just ran across it and all the fun came back, like cramming it into the back seat of a Pinto along with a bunch of other gear. I swear that car was like Snoopy's dog house, you wouldn't believe how much stuff we could get into it. My drummer dubbed it the Touring Vessel. Great times!

Sounds like my old Ford Escort they used to call the Clown Car. The joke was always that after I had all the equipment loaded, there was always room for one more clown (me)!

I almost bought one of those in the early 2000s.-'til I tried to lift it.:banghead:

Every time I think back to the early days and the first bass amp I had I thank the lord for my Rumble amps. This thing was ridiculously heavy, 1 15" and 2 10". I swear that cabinet had to be made out of petrified wood to be so heavy. I got if for almost nothing from the parents of a guy who left it at home when he moved overseas and didn't want it.

Found this photo on the web, not my actual amp.

Have any of you ever had a Rumble 500 combo with a Rumble 115 extension cabinet? I've been considering getting the 115.
You wont be sorry getting the 115 cab..I love the sound of the 500c with it's 2x10" drivers connected to the 115 ext cab..great sound. The dimensions of the 115 cab are different though and the combo doesnt sit on top quite equally but you could always turn the combo on its side if needed..I dont bother..I dont suffer from the dreaded Obsessive-compulsive disorder and just sit the 500 Combo on top of the 115..in my opinion..I think they look great together and sound even better.
