It stood up to the drummer just fine. I think I was at 12 o'clock on gain and master. I had the amp up on a small table, and that mighta helped.
The overdrive feature worked perfectly on the one tune where it was needed.
But the line out is subject to amp volume setting? Seemed that way during soundcheck. So once set, I left it alone and let the soundman set my volume.
Overall, very happy. One lightweight trip from the car instead of two. Good sound. No complaints.
Yes, the line out is the last place in the chain, so it is effected by everything.
yes. imagine like if you had a mic in front of the amp. it has cab sim too.
Yes, the Master Volume affects the XLR Out volume a bit, but not a tremendous amount. See the real life experiments and testimonials here.

I just bought a rumble 40 to use as a practise amp at home and I absolutely love it. Its cheap, light and sounds great a low volumes. Perfect for jamming with the stereo. The only thing I noticed was if you mess too much with the eqs on the amp it gets a bit muddy but just small adjustments keeps it clean. Would highly recommend!

So I am having a really hard time trying to figure out a problem going on with my Rumble amps. I have a 500 combo and also an 800 head with 2 4x10 cabs. I keep getting what sounds like something maxing out in the mids somewhere. No matter how I turn the knobs it’s always there. This is recent thing that has happened and it happened literally out of nowhere. I’ve tried passive basses, active, plugging straight in with no effects or anything and it’s always there. Also it seems as if the signal is being lost somewhere or the full sound isn’t as present as it was before. It’s really hard to explain but that’s really the best I can do I think. Please help!!

The standard answer always seems to be: Take a 1/4 inch cable and plug it into the effects in about 10 times, then into the effects out about 10 times. If that changes anything, you try cleaning them. I know something like that has saved a lot of people a lot of headaches.
Then I realized you might be saying both amps are doing it? I can't explain that.
Does it worsen as you turn up the volume? Sounds like you're hitting the built-in limiter and its "thinning" your signal...especially when you say "it seems as if the signal is being lost somewhere or the full sound isn’t as present as it was before".
@G-Dog whadda ya think? Start with the gain set very low but crank the master vol...then gradually raise the gain?
From a troubleshooting standpoint the weird thing would be two different amps suddenly showing the exact same issue. You say you tried different basses, plugging straight in, etc. Is there anything at all in common with your test inputs? If so, eliminate it, even a single guitar cord. How about power supply? Anything unusual there? I would start by focusing on why two different devices would be doing the same thing, so think external to the amp issues first.
i went down the have a custom case made road for my r100 and happy. dowside is to find a good manufacturer in your area and the possible wait times/cost for something that is handcrafted.
Really the only common denominator would be the cables I usually use but ive used different cables and the same issue exists
I just checked and Tennessee is having power outages. Could it possibly be that you are in a brownout situation and not getting full power?
I dont think so. I havent heard anything about outages and this issue has occurred in two different locations as my bigger setup is at another place other than my house. Im going to try other cables this weekend when I go out and play and maybe that will change something. Its just strange that it seems like the amp is getting too much of one frequency and not enough of others no matter how I move the EQ, volume or gain.
Do others hear the same thing? It just seems so improbable that two different amps would fail the same way being separated by miles, etc. even using a variety of sources (basses) and cords. Good luck.
