Fender Rumble Club

How are you liking it there?
Really happy with the move. Thanks for asking. The summer tourist season will be over in a week. Hooray! The hordes will be leaving. The line at my favorite ice cream place can have 25-30 peeps in it...at 11pm! I have to get mine before dinner.

Studio 40

OK, that was my Rumble content. :roflmao:

Where have you chosen for your ice-cream spot? I guess i should be welcoming you to the UK?

The only amp I've ever played through is a Rumble 25 that was part of my first ever bass kit that I purchased in May of 2020 (at 57 years old). Now I've got five basses (of course) but the one 25w'er. I mainly play in my 16' x 14' shed turned man-cave/home office. I'm wanting to boost my amp wattage and I'm looking at the Rumble 100 as the next step. So.....what is going to a 100W amp going to give me while playing in that same space (besides the obvious)? All opinions appreciated!

The Rumble 100 has a 12" driver instead of the 8" driver in the 25, which is going to sound much louder and fuller. Also the 25 (and the 15) has a more basic preamp than the 100, which sports the same preamp as the 200 and 500, so you will get a 4-band EQ, and a better tone overall, and the bonus is that the 100 doesn’t weigh much more than the 25, due to the lighter plywood enclosure. The 100 is a terrific step up, and should be even enough for quieter gigs.

Also, the R100 has FX send and return as well as XLR for FOH connection. After moving up from a R25 and Studio 40 and moving down from a R200, it is, to me, the best lower wattage choice in the Rumble line.

Hey Rumblers, fellow Rumbler here! Purchased a brand new 500 combo . Unpacking today.
Before I even plug the bass, just wondering if I should worry about:
  • Visible color marks on the knobs, especially Gain and Drive,
  • Asymmetrical grille cloth on the top right corner,
  • Strap popped out of the cabinet.
I guess those are minor appearance issues, but I have a 30-day money back or replacement that I can use. Pics attached.
Thanks in advance!

My OCD would be kicking in regarding the first two points. Enough to make me want a replacement. The third is OK, it is the pull point for removing the grille. You could tuck it back under if it bothered you.

Howdy, LeGgy! @LG TPAFL, you are now member #1662 in the Fender Rumble Club. Congratulations and welcome. Please put that number in your TalkBass Signature for safe keeping. Then make yourself at home here and on your Rumble Club Wiki page, the repository of all Rumbling wisdom and knowledge.

The 15, 25 & 40 Feature Comparison, post linked under the Rumble Summary Chart on your Wiki, tells a bit about the controls differences. The Rumble 40/100/200/500 Manual, linked in the Rumble V3 Reviews section of your Wiki, is also a very good reference as to how the additional features work. You can even connect the FX Send of the R100 with an instrument cable to the Input of the R25 (there is no danger*) to run both at the same time with different, or similar, settings for some very interesting tones!

So, LG, welcome, again, and congratulations on expanding you Rumble stable! Now it's time to ... ... ...

Rumble On!

The grill cloth and the knobs wouldn't bother me at all...I probably have snags/bends in my grill cloth that I've never even noticed to be honest....but that danged pull tab to remove the grill needs to be removed in favor of an "eject" button ;)

For starters, the ability to crank up your Harmon Kardon to full concert level with your favorite tunes and rip right along with them! Hearing protection recommended. Trust me--your neighbors will love it...:smug:

Oh, K, tuner! @ktuna, you are now member #1663 in the Fender Rumble Club. Congratulations and welcome to TalkBass in general and The Club in particular! Please put that number in your TalkBass Signature for safe keeping. Then make yourself at home here and on your Rumble Club Wiki page, the repository of all Rumbling wisdom and knowledge.

I'm sorry to read about your OCD cosmetic issues. I do hope you have more patience with your playing. It should be fun, you know? As mentioned, the bottom strap is supposed to be there, but you can tuck it in a bit, if you like.

So, K, how about telling us a bit about yourself, such as your bass experience in general and your Rumble journey in particular? We have all kinds here so you're bound to fit right in. But we all love to ... ... ...

So now I'm a proud owner of the 100 as well.....and lovin' it. And the idea of chaining my 25 to the 100 is interesting.

So out from SEND on the 100 to INPUT on the 25? I was wondering if I should keep the 25 but the prospect of combining them and hearing the results is pretty intriguing.

Yes! And you can set the 25 differently from the 100, though it's getting the 100's sound to begin with, to get two different sounds at once! Or set the same to reinforce the tone.
