Fender Rumble Club

Just bought a rumble 500 and I'm curious about the effects port in the back. The manual says to run pedals through it for better tone and reduced noise. I've always run my pedal chain through the regular input channel. Which do you guys run them through? Is there a noticeable difference?

Aloha, Charly! @Charlinho14, you are now member #1672 in the Fender Rumble Club. Congratulations and welcome. Put that number in your TalkBass Signature for safe keeping. Then make yourself at home here and on your Rumble Club Wiki page, the repository of all Rumbling wisdom and knowledge.

GregT has good advice. Try both, and then let your ears be your guide!

So, Chucky, how's about telling us a bit about yourself, such as your bass experience in general and your Rumble journey in particular? We have all kinds here so you're bound to fit right in. But we all love to ... ... ...

Update; so I found a reasonable Rumble 200, and running the 100 with it is just what I thought it might be...the 115 and the 112 sound great together...BUT...the 200 driving a GK 410 is the ticket...except that the 410 weighs 70lbs!...I'm also now curious about either adding a second 200, or the Fender Rumble 410...driving the 200 into a second cab delivers the amp power you paid for, and with the horn for a bit of top end, that 200 does the job...
Selling the GK 410 and my Ampeg B2R...with the Rumble brothers in the house now, the 'old' rig which weighs a metric ton in comparison is going to be someone else's rig soon...the Rumble revolution is here for me...

My Rumble 100 came with its own security system!

We can even turn it up to 12, or "flat", without breaking a sweat!

If we just turn it up to ... ... (wait for it) ... up to ... 6! :woot:

But...12 isn't "flat".:smug:

Then there's the fact that the numbers on the pictured knobs are "bass-ackwards".("Numbers? We don't need no stinkin' numbers!")

For tomorrow night's gig my R200cV3 will be set G-~10, Vi-on, Co-never, Br-on(?), OD-mute(7/7), Bs-10, LM-2, HM-2, Tr-10, V-~10. Horn-off.:bassist:
