Fender Rumble Club

Just impulse-bought a Rumble 500 combo (10% off on Musicians Friend right now, btw). Interested to see if it lets me downsize a bit from my usual bar rig, which is a 500w head into 4-ohm 2x12 cabinet. It’s overkill, but I usually don’t have PA support, so I’m a little nervous the 2x10 combo won’t fill a room quite as nicely. But, hoping it works out!
Just set that gain knob at noon.

My Rumble 200 works well with my band, of course it's just drums guitar and bass, but the guitarist has a 100watt power amp and a 4x12 half stack. The only time I need more volume is outside, and I have an ext 115 cab to add to the 200, and it's always been enough. If the Rumble 500 isn't enough, your band must be incredibly loud.
If you need more volume from the 500, you'll need an 8 ohm ext speaker and it will get much louder !

My first outing with my 500c, several years ago, was a room that held 700 with 2 guitars and a very loud drummer was no problem. Did I mention the drummer was loud?
Now, if you want to move furniture, add an external Fender Rumble 2x10 cab.

500c, no PA support, outdoors, big venue, musician friends in the crowd said it sounded clean and clear...

"What? I can't hear you for the drums.";)

So. Gig Saturday nite at one of the few places I 'need' the extra oomph of the 200c(purchased 11/2015). Thought about running R100>R200c, but I gots to provide/run PA and don't need to make an extra trip for load-in/-out. Naturally the band 'area' is in the second farthest corner from the door, through the tables-and people.:banghead:
Our little corner of the room-the thing w/ the tower is my JBL EON ONE PA; R100 under TV:

As I've said b4, if I'd known the daisy chain thing, I'd have bought either, A, 2xR100, or, 2, 1 R200h and 2xR112.
But the current-and for the foreseeable future-lineup[40,100, 200c]is quite sufficient and somewhat less PITA.

Hi all,

I really like my Rumble 800, but it seems to have developed a pretty ugly rattle. I tried tightening what I could see. Any suggestions on something I may have missed? It shows up in the lower register from fifth position A (the worst) and down.
One of my Rumbles had a buzz. It ended up just being the wire connected to that back of the speaker, inside. Hope you figure it out.

For some reason I have to tighten the nuts on most or all of the 1/4” and 1/8” jacks in the back of my Rumble 500c periodically, when they loosen up it makes for some strange harmonics, buzzes and rattles. They are never actually loose to the touch, and I haven’t been able to distinguish one jack as the culprit. But when I hear it, I just give all of them a gentle twist and the buzz goes away for a few months.

I ended up with a rattle on my R100 after a while. Turned out to be the metal amp housing rattling against the cab. I pulled the amp off and added a few thin rubber spacers and that did the trick.

Just bought a rumble 500 and I'm curious about the effects port in the back. The manual says to run pedals through it for better tone and reduced noise. I've always run my pedal chain through the regular input channel. Which do you guys run them through? Is there a noticeable difference?

Honestly, the best way is to try both ways. Some pedals seem to work better before the amp and some work best in the effects loop. I usually end up running them into the input of the amp also.
