Fender Rumble Club

I'm playing at a club in a few weeks that has this amp as backline. They're calling it a Fender Rumble 100. I played there a while back and I seem to remember that it was one of the smaller rumble amps and was not enough for that venue, but maybe they got a new amp. If it is a rumble 100 I could use that but if it's one of the smaller ones I'll probably bring my own amp. Can anyone tell from this picture which one it is?

You mean like on the phone? :jawdrop: There's a technical spec page on their website which lists it as a 100. I played there a couple years ago maybe and I'm pretty sure it was a 40. But the website says it's a 100.

Yeah, G, the XLR Out has a pretty nifty speaker cabinet simulator (cab sim) circuit in it, which may be a bit fancier than the actual unlined R100 cab itself. You can see it in the block diagram.
.

There's also a cab sim on the headphone out. Is the Delta Comp Limiter included in the line out XLR?

According to the block diagram, yes.

No, YES, according to the block diagram, the Delta-Comp (and 2nd Order HPF) are downstream upstream of the XLR Out and the Headphone output, just ahead of the power amp.*

*Edited after @Miles_ONeal's friendly correction below. Thanks, Miley!!

Look again. It's complicated. The raw signal and the cab sim signal go through the summer circuit (big "+"), 2nd order HPF, and Delta Comp, then to *both* the PA and back to the left, through another cab sim (?!?), to the line out.

You could call the club and ask them what model it is.

Sorry, basss, the Rumble 40, 100, 200, 500, and even the new 800, combos all have the same knobs, so we can't tell positively from your pic which model it is.

However, I'll take an educated guess that it may be a 100, because the 40 is 16.5" wide by 16.5" tall, and the one in the photo appears, to me, to be slightly taller than it is wide, like the 16.5" wide by 18.5" tall R100.

That was my thinking.

Just treat it like a one-way road system. Start at input and choose your path to an output, noticing arrows along the way. If your signal tries to go the wrong way, there's an escalation of denials, from a school crossing guard with a stop sign to tire shredders to a giant electromagnet on a crane that picks your signal's vehicle up and drops it in an impound lot. Unfortunately the gatekeeper for the lot died, and no one noticed, so no one escapes from there.

Holy Optical Conclusion, Blapman! You're right!!* I was totally fooled by The Jocular's right-n-left parallel lines from the FX Loop and to the FTSW (Footswitch), or some other irrelevant, incompetent & immaterial interpretation!

But, on closer Blap-Examination, I see the Blap-Signal from the FX Loop splits to both the Headphone's Cab Sim and to the big "+" summer. [I remember my own big "+" summer with Kitty-Girl many years ago! (sigh)] Then, as you said, it continues through the HPF and Delta-Comp before splitting again to the Power Amp and to the Line Out's Cab Sim. What a Dastardly Diabolically Drawn Diagram so characteristic of The Jocular!

Hey yall, I bought a brand new Rumble 800 and it's crazy hissy right out of the box. That's without cables plugged in and the tweeter off.

Is it possible that it's a defect?

Hmmm, nope, nope, nope, ... ... well, maybe. @Pops_Austin you are now member #1711 in the Fender Rumble Club. Congratulations and welcome. Put that number in your TalkBass Signature for safe keeping. Then make yourself at home here and on your Rumble Club Wiki page, the repository of all Rumbling wisdom and knowledge.

Popi, try plugging in an instrument cable from the FX Send to the FX Return to see if that helps. If so, click that link for explanation and cleaning. If not, call whoever you got it from and let 'em know you want a replacement with a good 'un! 7ender stands behind their products, so it shouldn't be any problem.

Meanwhile, how's about telling us a bit about yourself, such as your bass experience in general and your Rumble journey in particular? And do please keep us updated on your replacement process. You'll fit right in here since we have all kinds. But we all love to ... ... ...

Rumble On!

Story time.:)
I had mentioned I might be getting a Fender Rumble 60 for really cheap. Well, it didn't happen. He either sold it or never bothered to check his ad to see that I was interested in it. Just as well. Here is a picture of why it was so cheap. I probably saved myself countless hours and lots of swearing, not to mention $$ for gloves, masks, material and chemicals.

Yeah, it was only $40 but...

So, I went a different route and figured I'm way further ahead.
Rumble 150. Tag says it's birthday was 2013.
I do plan on cleaning & repainting the front grill as that's about all it needs.
I don't think I did too bad @ $150.
I tested it in every way I could think of and it sounds FANTASTIC!
55lbs! At least the casters work good.;)

How'd I do? (I am a rookie with this stuff)

Dodged a bullet right there with the first one.

Second one just looks a bit dusty. I bet a damp cloth is all you'll need. Rumble on!
