Fender Rumble Club

I'm sorry for overlooking this!! @smatanovic, you are now member #1841 in the Fender Rumble Club. Congratulations and welcome. Please put that number in your TalkBass Signature for safe keeping. Then make yourself at home here and on your Rumble Club Wiki page, the repository of all Rumbling wisdom and knowledge. 😀

I shoulda done this all those years ago, smatter. I apologize for the delay. But, better late than never! BTW, did you ever get a Rocket Bass as you seemed to be considering back then? Just curious. 😉

How about telling us a bit about yourself, such as your bass experience in general and your Rumble journey (ever just accompanying your first bass). You'll fit right in here since we have all kinds. But we all love to ... ... ...

Rumble On!
Still rumbling on with the Rumble 15… I am super indecisive wrt an amp upgrade, since the majority of my playing is silent using headphones. I recently purchased a UA Apollo interface and am mostly exploring amp and preamp plugins these days. Can anyone recommend a good Bassman plugin?

When did they add that Pre Post switch ? I bought one today that has it , the last year or so maybe ? Thanks .
Here is what Fender said in 2022 in regard to the Rumble 100

"ADDENDUM / TECHNICAL NOTE
Due to ongoing supply issues, some units may be built with an
alternate power supply and amplifier module. This will not change
the audio performance of the product; however, these units
require a 4-ohm speaker rather than the original 8-ohm specifica-
tion. Should replacement of a speaker ever be required, qualified
service personnel should note the impedance rating (8 ohms or 4
ohms) indicated on the speaker itself and use a replacement with
the same impedance rating.
Additionally, units built with the alternate power module include
the added pre/post switch that lets the user set the XLR output to
provide pre- (direct) or post-preamp/EQ sign,"

Yep still under warranty.

They said they’d replace it. I sent them the required docs. Waiting to hear back about shipping etc…

So I may be parting out the old one once the new one shows up, if anyone needs anything off of it.
I can use the power supply if it’s not the version with pre/post eq switch for the DI.

Hello! You guys still dishing out numbers? I just bought a secondhand 500. The fender emblem is broken though. Still trying to understand the settings and dial in the tone I want. Will look at the wiki too. I'm excited!!

Yep, yang! @yang-yang-java, you are now member #1842 in the Fender Rumble Club. Congratulations and welcome to TalkBass in general and The Club in particular. Look for the TONE Pool on the wiki for suggested settings.

Have you tried Neural Amp Modeler? I'd check that out and try some profiles uploaded by users on tone3000.com. You should be able to find your preferred flavor of Bassman on there, including impulse responses for whatever cab you want to try.

Question for everyone (and mods, please feel free to delete if I should make a new thread for this).

I'm just trying to see if I got this right. So I sent the master maybe at 8:30, then dial in the tone that I like. When I get into rehearsals or on a bigger room, that's when I turn up the master? Basically, I'm treating the master to adjust for the room or so I could hear myself during rehearsals. Is that correct? I know I could test this too but thought I'd ask as well on how everyone is doing it. Thank you!

The first two minutes addresses Your question. (rest is recommended)

No problem, yang, that is exactly what this thread is for! The website would be an awful cluttered mess if every question had it's own thread!

Again, welcome to The Club.

The video dORSY posted is spot on.

One thing that wasn't addressed in the video is the all noon setting on the Rumble 40 (Mark from the Talking Bass channel) is the tone Fender sculped into the Rumble amps. The baked in sound is that of a mid scooped tone. This sounds great when playing solo, or if you're trying to sit in the background of the music, but at gigging levels this sound can turn to a muddy mess. Read the Fender Rumble 500 (& 40) Frequencies in the Rumble Wiki pages for an explanation of the tonal spectrum of these amps and why the 10, 2, 2, 10 o'clock settings (actual flat) work.

Which also are very close on the R100 and R200c. Because I can't easily access the tone controls once we start playing, "flat" allows me to make tweaks to my tone by making minor adjustments on the bass depending on the tune being played.
