Fender Rumble Club

Refresh my memory there @Stealth57 Thanks Stealthy
Geo bought a very expensive scotch where they were playing and placed it on top of his rig....the glass decided to play the old electric football game and scored a touchdown on the floor. Never got more than a sip. Fortunately, not into the amp.

Wisdom.
I’ve heard too many stories to set a drink down on an amp.
Like JIO and his $20 scotch...

I believe you were right the first time, Stealthy. Wasn't it JIO in this post, instead of Geo? 😳 Is that the one?

I used to be on a chat program many many years ago called Paltalk, where you needed to wear a headset and mic so you could chat in your private room with the people you invited in. They also had open mic clubs like this one where you could chat to as many who wanted to chime in one at a time. I ran my own room called One Stop Trivia and as owner I had to employ a couple moderators to keep order or take over if I wasnt there. lol.
It has occurred to me many times - I wonder what it would be like if TB employed audio into its program. I can hear the chaos now lollll It really would live up to it's name then..TALK Bass. Oh the pandemonium lollll
"Do you like my tone better with the left port blocked or the right port blocked?"

I purchased a Rumble 200 combo 1 x 15" speaker. I was wondering if i should upgrade to a Rumble 800 head and a 1X 15 speaker cab? I own 3 basses: American Standard Jazz Bass, Rickenbacker 4003 and Hofner 500/1. Is it really worth it? will i gain more headroom and better bass sound quality? I just use the amp in the studio and maybe club gigs sometimes. Any recommendations? Im really not into throwing money away but if a 500 or 800 head plus cab gives me something better i am willing to sell the 200 combo amp.

Double your pleasure, double your fun! @Jalexquijano77, you are now member #1845 in the Fender Rumble Club. And @Gopherbassist, you are now member #1846 in the Fender Rumble Club. Congratulations and welcome to you both. Put your number in your TalkBass Signature for safe keeping, then make yourselves at home here and on your Rumble Club Wiki page, the repository of all Rumbling wisdom and knowledge.
J. Alex, welcome to TalkBass in general and to The Club in particular! Yes, in general, a more powerful amp should give you more headroom, but not necessarily"better" sound quality. Your matched pair of 15" speakers each pumping up to 100 watts should be a very sweet sounding rig. But, I would not recommend that 300 watt Rumble 115 cab with a Rumble 800 head because it might too easily receive up to 400 watts from that head, and damage could ensue! If you find that the 200 combo with 115 cab is frequently frequently for your situation, then get a Rumble 500 combo. By itself it's 350 watts, which might be enough for you. But add the 115 cab for the full 500 Rumbling watts and the cab will only ever receive up to a very safe 250 watts. 👍
Gopher, you're in good company here with many using one or two Rumble 100s. Let us know how it goes for you, won't you?
Say, how about you guys telling us a bit about yourselves, such as your bass experience in general and your Rumble journeys in particular? You'll fit right in here since we have all kinds. But we all love to ... ... ...
Rumble On!

Depends if you need the headroom and how you intend to use it.
On paper, yep, but in practice?

I know I hugely benefit with headroom which is why my gigging amps are 8/900w...
I want the sound under my fingers not to go digging for it all the time.

Hey, Doggie...How are you doing?

Hey, Doggie...How are you doing?

Hey, my Soul-man! Very good to "see" you. I'm just fine. Sorry for the delay answering. Mrs. Dog & I hosted a a patio/pool party for a few friends & relatives today. I swear I hadda jump in the pool every 15 minutes to keep from getting too hot outside! (That's my story and I'm sticking to it.) 😅

I currently have a regular weekly jam at the local nursing home that's always fun, except the former guitar playing hostess of this group is now a resident there! 😥 And that same group, plus a few more, played a funeral visitation, with some truly excellent playing & vocal harmonies, a couple days ago. Lucky to have such fine musicians in this little rural town, including at least 2 recent state fiddle champions! I usually use my Rumble Studio 40 set to an upright acoustic sound, or whatever else seems appropos. Occasionally, we have a bigger venue and use a PA, for which I take my Rumble 500 combo, with Master set at 9 or 10 o'clock. 🤗

What have you been up to? Rumblin' On, I trust. 😉

I bet you were doing the G-Dog-paddle in that pool.

The only thing that I DO NOT like about the Fender covers! There is no pocket to put the chord. Even Line 6 does that. Your nice covers have a pocket as well!
Exactly! Took a lot to be made and was not the cheapest, but a good cover is damn useful!|

Since I alternate between taking my Rumble Studio 40 and my Rumble 500 combo, depending on venues, I've learned to keep my cables in my gig bag where I always know where to find them.
