*patiently waiting for the shop to call me when my new replacement amp arrives. they said a week to 10 days to get a new one, that waz last week in the middle of the week i forget what day tho. the 5 year warranty on the v3 is amazing. all i did waz call sweetwater (where i got it), and they told me where a good warranty shop was in my area. when i took my squealing amp the the warranty shop, they just said all the rumbles they get, simply get 100% replaced. maybe fender has a stock ready to ship for replacement or somewthing idk. im sure impressed that i can get my v3 40 replaced in just a week's time after a breakdown (havent got it yet, but this is the plan and what ive been told). any little hitch in 5 years - replaced! that's amazing. i'll do an unboxing photo-shoot when the new one gets here i guess for ya'll

Well... this just happened.

I scan Craig's List daily for the deal-of-the-century on a decent bass. I want a decent P-bass and a better-than-decent J-bass. Over the weekend, what appeared to be a very clean Ibanez SR-1200E popped up. I contacted the seller and we were finally able to meet today so I could look at the instrument. I was very impressed with the appearance of the instrument so I grabbed it for a fair price for both of us, I believe.

I got home and plugged it into my v3. Rumble 40 set flat. The instrument looks great, feels great, plays smooth and sounds fantastic. I was very happy with the tone with everything set flat. Then I started goofing around with the knobs and switches a bit and started opening up worlds of tone! This one's a keeper! I'll plug it into my v2. Rumble 350 tomorrow after the normal people have left for work and try to set off some car alarms.

I will put my Squire P-bass up on Craig's List and keep my restored Fender MIM P-bass for now. I may stop looking for a MIA J-bass for the time being; my Squire J-bass is pretty good and this Ibanez is very good.

Here are some pics pulled straight from the CL ad:

Can we say warwick fna clone? Looks nice. I have an sdgr sr500 with the same neck, but not as sweet a body. Thay totally reminds me of my fna's , swamp ash body, flame maple top with a walnut veneer between the top and back. The real clincher is the use of wenge in the neck. Total different world from a fender

Very close to making a final decision ie Rumble 500w head & rumble 4x10 cab.
Had a play of the new Veyron T head yesterday & sounds v/ nice paired with a rumble 4x10
Am a bit dubious of the make as read a few bad reviews of berringher gear, anyone got any experience with it??
I am thinking stay with fender for the "name"??
BTW, the veyron has the speakon connections whereas the rumble 500w doesn't., are they an advantage?

Thnx for the help, lovin this forum..

If you go with bugera, make sure you have a warranty center in your area, and register the warranty to get 3 yrs instead of just 1. Reliability issues on their more complicated amps, especially the guitar tube amps. But I had a v5 class a single ended amp that lasted 5 years and I sold it in perfect working order, but it is a much simpler circuit.

Speakons ar3 nice for higher wattage amps, but the cables are a little more money than 1/4 or banana connectors. I have always been fine with 1/4", the only problem with 1/4 is they are not idiot proof, and there are a lot of idiots using instrument cables as speaker cables and vice versa. Easy newb mistake to make and can be costly.

Most of us here will say rumble. Fender should come up with a rumble800 head with speakons at the $6-700us price point. Would compete well against other amps in the class. Beringer is also loose with power specs, and nobody needs a 2kilowatt bass rig anyway. 800 rumble watts would likely be similar volume to 1000-1200w other brand class d's. It does not exist of course. But even the 500 which does exist is enough power for anyone, and 5 yr warranty without having to register is a nice thing.

I would suggest 500 combo and a 210 cab, but with the price increases and only $50 difference between 210 and 410 it makes no financial sense. However you would be running at 350 instead of 500. Not that that is an issue, probably 2db lost at best. 500w pushing 2 410 is as much air as you would ever need. Or a 115 and 410 if you are not afraid to upset the anti mixer majority on this forum.

+1 for a GOOD warranty if going with Behringer/Bugera. I've heard good reports re the Veyron amp, but. ...I'd not be confident with one until it's been out for a few years and ALL the kinks are out- if it turns out there are kinks. Even then, with the B name/brand. ..... :eyebrow: get a GOOD warranty! The Rumble hasn't been out a long time too, but Fender have given a great warrant with em and the Rumble series in the past have been pretty darn solid. If both were the same $$ & I was buying, I'd still go the Fender, but I'd like to try the Veyron. .....maybe one day, as a back up.... maybe. :nailbiting:
