Fender Rumble Club

Assuming I want to send the signal from XLR to a PA or to record in the studio how high, or what's the minimum the "Master" knob should be? Is 12-o'clock ok?

Most likely not that high. You'll set the master based on the input level graphic on the board, but only after you've made the adjustments to the EQ and Gain. When I recorded over the weekend, my master was barely at 9 o'clock.

Well I fell into a pit of bullies today. Enough said. While their technical explanation ended up making sense, they chose to turn it into personal attacks and I could not diffuse the situation. And I was only trying to help a newbie , and my advice was sound and correct since he was asking about 2 cabs from the same series, so I mentioned 410 pushes twice the air of 115, and they went out their way to prove me wrong by including drivers with huge xmax excursion and power handling where a 15 did push more air, a total comparison of crab apples to cortlands, and added.insults and made it personal. I would just leave the whole site but I have been a member longer and it is not worth it. I did ignore the offender and all who dogpiled on me with him. Logic wasnt winning, tapping out wasnt working they just kept adding insult quoting and mocking.

Pardon my french, there are some real ******** on here, opinionated ones too. Just the facts of life on all internet forums. This thread seems somewhat safe and friendlier.

Lets see.if this brings repercussions. .. not my intent if so, just venting.

Makes me.rethink offering help to newbs. No good deed goes unpunished I guess

Report all such personal attacks and sniping. I've noticed an uptick in anti-Fender rhetoric across the board to include anti-Rumble vitriol. Report and let the moderators do their jobs. You can still report even if the remarks weren't against you personally. Don't retaliate as it will only land you in some trouble. Don't ask me how I know this.

I almost reported one who did nothing but quote excerpts of my posts and call it comedy. It was sticky as I did not resort to insults and tapped out, called for truce twice and they just kept dogpiling. It wasnt about fender it was about speaker mixing and 410 vs 115 which is better which pushes more air ect and I figured reporting might bring in some anti misinformation nazi on their side since technically they had specs on a 15 that displaces more air than lesser 410s. I tried to explain thay in the ops situation that didnt apply, but logic was lost on them. In the end I put the offenders on.ignore and unwatched the thread. I was still getting alerts of new people quoting me to jump in on the dog pile so I deleted all my posts in the thread, so they only exist in the quotes of the offenders.so I look like an idiot regardless.

From what I recall, you weren't pushing the Fender brand; you were just stating some info about cab speaker size vs. speaker size. I've heard the same thing, that four 10s push more air than one 15. I don't know the science behind it, so I cannot help you. I do know that I will never go back to a 115 after playing a 210 or 410... Not because I am "pushing more air," but because I dig the punch.

The reason I came to the Rumble Club today (this might be a stupid question): I usually run direct from my Sansamp VT Deluxe to FOH. Since the line out on the Rumble is after the preamp, would it also be after any effects going into the preamp? You know what I mean? Sorry if this is a stupid question.

Not a stupid question, and yes the XLR out is all post EQ & FX plus it also has a speaker cabinet emulator circuit that is quite good and sonically accurate. Don't hesitate to send your XLR out to the board.

The ONLY reason I hesitate is because I sometimes turn up during a set. I don't wanna pee off the sound dude. Thanks, Linnin!

Just shows there are a lot of ignorant people who act like bullies because they are hiding behind a computer, I respect your posts and knowledge, sorry that happened to you!

A small boost in volume doesn't matter, as you do have some reasonable leeway. Besides which who cares if you tee off the sound turkey anyway? The G-Wankers are tossing off every which way with their pedals, so you'll barely be noticed if at all.

I once had a real sound man tell me, "Dude you sound GREAT! (Rumble 350 + 2x 112) I took you out of the PA mix completely and it (sound & volume) was perfect!" I was just playing my normal stage volume + EQ'd my rig to the room & mix. Perfect.

The last time a sound dude complimented my tone, it was coming from a Fender BXR DB400. That thing sounded super sweet, but buzzzzzzzzed no matter what I did. Plus, it weighed like 58 tons. Lately, I'm pretty sure that the only thing that's going through FOH are vocals and kick. Of course, it doesn't help that these Rumbles are so freakin' loud on their own.

Rumbles don't need pa's lol

Im 1.for.1 need to find another band and see if the track record continues. Without the cheap ampeg 210 anymore, which cosmetically was a better punk looking cab to match the classic looking rumble, I will be using swr as extension, which actually pushes more low than the ampeg did, so I should be carrying rooms no problem. The only wild card is my goliath jr II 210 which is rear ported and 16 ohm (came as 4, which didn't work with some amps I wantee to use it with ). If anything it would serve as a nice stand with good tone, because the power will be skewed towards the 8 ohm 15.

linnin, any idea on the power of a rumble 200 at 5.3 ohms? Im guessing around 170-180

Probably trivial anyway, the only issue is the power allocation. But that 15 sounds pretty good. Normally I would put the 210 on top, but in that case perhaps otherwise.

Definitely grabbing the sob next time at storage, it has to be tested as a bottom cab with the 200, try a classic 215 stack for once. And I think it will stack well on its side.

I might just have to slum it and play with a sub par band that is local and not a cash drain, just to have oppportunities to test all my cab configs (minus 410 which is too big considering I will have other stuff in the car like bowlinf balls and perhaps a guitar rig). But when I need it, I will be breaking it out for sure.
