Fender Rumble Club

I've tried it though the effects loop but it hissed quite a bit. If I go through effects return does it bypass the eq on the amp?
That's odd, mine is dead quiet. Be sure to check your gain structure to make sure you are at unity gain.
Yes, if you go in through the effects return you are by passing the Rumble front end and using the ZOOM B3 as a pre-amp. This is the way to go if you are using the various amp models.

Hi guys - got a Rumble 500 today. Do I need to post a pic to get a number?

I also have a Zoom - the B1Xon. Not sure if this is the best way to do it, but I plug my bass into the Zoom input,
and run the Zoom out, into the 500 main input. Sounds great.

About practice volume - I have a practice amp, but could use the 500 if I had all the buttons out (off), no gain, and the main volume just slightly cracked open.
Touchy though - it gets very loud, very fast.
There's also always the volume knob on the bass itself too.

I agree that there is really something special about today's new 12" woofers that wasn't there just a few years ago.

I picked up a OLD Rumble 100 about a month ago (the original...it had the red lights at the bottom but no switch on the back to turn them off/set them to vibe with the music) and it just sounded crappy. It was ok on the two lower strings but it distorted/buzzed on the higher strings. I took it back for full credit and then got my current 500 V3.

Dude, really come on now. The oringinal Rumble 100 was designed in 2002. A 100 watt 1x15 combo. It was excellent for its time and price point. They sold well for seven years and were held in high regard by those that actually owned them. The second generation Rumbles were released in 2010 and proceeded to dominate the the bass combo market world wide. The Rumble 150 combo became the very best selling bass combo in history. In 2014 the Rumble 500 combo was unleashed upon the planet and has proceeded to become the best selling bass amp on planet Earth.

I am sure it was a fine design and made many people happy...

...but there was clearly something wrong with this particular unit.
