I play the 115 driven by a GK 700RBii and I can dial in a great P bass with flat tone and the next minute EQ in some mids back in and get some serious punch. I've had to dial down because the set up had lows too punchy for the smoother stuff we played. I have experienced the 115 getting a little muddy with the higher notes, but once the tweeter is up I didn't notice a problem.OK - thanks for the feedback. Sounds like the 500 may be the way to go. Is it still suitable for home use (i.e. will it sound good at low practice volumes)? I'm coming from a guitar background where the current craze is small, low wattage amps that are meant to be cranked over big high wattage amps that can't be turned up past two or three without shattering windows. I assume bass amps are a different story but honestly I don't really know. This will be my first bass amp purchase.
Does anyone have any experience with the 200? How does the 15" Eminence driver sound? Does it have some nice punch and tight low end or does it get flabby and muddy? Thanks, and sorry for all the dumb questions.
Going a single cab set up using only a 115 is not ideal for every situation, and you'd probably be best served by the 410 if you're interested in great clarity and punch in the highs and high mids. I found the 115 perfect for my situation, where I play in a pocket of a hard rock and blues (not at the same time mind you) band where I am mostly in the lower notes with some added solos rarely. The 115 is perfect for that in the pocket/deep punch in my opinion.
