BTW...I usually use the headphone jack/aux in to practice but last night ran an XLR to a small board and used the headphone feed from that. I still plugged in a cable to the headphone jack on the amp to keep things quiet. There is some processing going on with the XLR...seems to narrow the dynamic range a bit and add color (since it is set for the FOH). I don't like it as much as the headphone out mix though. But putting a bass signal through subs requires a different tone. And the signal is certainly not sterile.

I like carrying fewer things. The whole point of my purchasing a Rumble 500c stemmed around the idea that it was lightweight and it kicked booty. I like showing up for most rehearsals and gigs with just one amp. Easy in. Easy out. That said, you're the only one who can decide if two will work better for you.

Edited to add: I DO have two Rumble rigs, but I never use them together.

I have always been using my Sansamp Bass Driver DI with past amps, but this is the first amp (s) where I don't feel I need it.

I presume with this arrangement I'm getting 350 watts (x2) with this arrangement? Anyone?

That's a very stealthy stack! Most would expect the Rumble 500 combo + Rumble 210. Now pop a couple of Rumble 112's under them! Ha! That'll Rumble the whole city

I'm dumb, but I'm assuming I can take my Rumble 100's effects line out and plug it into my other power amp to drive a separate cab. Am I dumb? Probably.

Cool, thanks. I'm totally doing it, then. I got a power amp and a 2-10 cab, but I don't want to buy a fancy preamp right now... or maybe ever if the Rumble does a good job.

For it to play through my power amp, I had to put a dummy plug in the effects return port, but then the Rumble speaker shut off. Maybe I done it wrong, I dunno.

Also, I had to turn the gain up all the way to get much of anything out.

No! No! No! Just run an instrument cable from the effects send to the input of your other amp. That's All!

Yeah, @hondo4life, you definitely ''done it wrong''!

A. The effects return on the Rumble bypasses all the controls and amplifies only that ''dummy plug'', thus no sound with no real signal. Presumably, the effects send still works even with the effects return highjacking the power amp. And . . .

2. Your power amp should have been playing without the dummy plug in the Rumble effects return. Maybe you just couldn't hear it over the Rumble?

What's with the "Dummy Plug"? Just run an instrument cable from the effects send directly to the instrument input on the second amp.

People it's soooo simple to learn how to hook electronic equipment up properly. Especially in this day and age. I wasn't born knowing ohms and what plug goes where. I started playing at 16 in 1970 and by 17 I could 'hook 'em up!' any time any where. PA's; amps, speaker cabinets, microphones, you name it. No books for teen aged dummies. No computers. No internet. A smart phone was when the F.B.I. told Ma Bell I was at home, and to turn on the tape recorders if I got a call from John Lennon, Keith Richards, or Neil Young.

Yup. I tried the original, thrice suggested configuration, and it worked beautifully. Aaaaaand when I jiggle my cables it goes to crap.

Anyway, thanks for confirming that I did it wrong. After a new cable, this rig is gonna be KICKIN.

No, I have not. All of my Rumble V3 experience comes from combo auditions in music stores.
