Fender Rumble Club

Thanks for the perspectives.

I will probably trade up to a 500c. Was hoping to have my cake and eat it too.

200c small gig. Add 500 head for larger gig.

Plus I really like the 15 and suspicious of the 210 for the sound I like. Buying the 500 head and 15 extension can is a noticeable difference in price. The way I see it is I have a 15 today. We'll see.

Linnin, I wouldn't need to understand the whole design. Understanding the speaker connection and putting in an appropriate switch would NOT be rocket science. It's the rated power of the speaker I am worried about.

I'll have soup when I please!

Thanks all.

P.s. I bet the existing switch would not be rated for power. That's one of a few smart choices I'd have to make.

The "Ext Cab out" is your jack, in parallel with the speaker. You only need a single pole switch on + between poweramp and speaker/jack.

That said, probably not a good idea?...

Cheers,

@Scatabrain, from what I've read here in The Fender Rumble Club several times, you should be abled to do what you want, since they are the exact same driver. Right, @Linnin?

Yes, the Eminence 15" woofers in both the Rumble 200 combo and the Rumble 115 are indeed one and the same.

What @Scatabrain wants to do is use his Rumble 200 combo as a Rumble 115 extension speaker cabinet with a Rumble 500 head and be able to switch back to a simple Rumble 200 combo any time he so pleases. Can it be done? Yes, but only if you were smart enough to design the entire Rumble line on your own. Have at it @Scatabrain. Best of Luck and No Soup For You! :roflmao:

@Scatabrain, just be aware that the Rumble 15'' is rated for 300 watts continuous and the Rumble 500 head can go to 350 watts into an 8 ohm load.

So you would either need to be sure not to crank the head too much, or add another 8 ohm cab to reduce the feed to your converted 200c to 250 watts.

Another useful feature of my Bassman combos that I wish the Rumbles had, flexible amp and speaker connections! I've experimented with it a few times. Nice to know you can quickly replace whichever you need, though I've never had to.

Hey! Maybe Mś. Saris, as mentioned a few weeks ago, was testing a new Bassman 500 combo, or a new Super Rumble 800 with all those nice Bassman extras! (I hope, I hope)

This just posted on Angeline Saris' facebook page: "Flew out of SFO at 6:30 AM and watched the sunrise from the airplane. Landed in Phoenix and spent a super fun afternoon at Fender trying out an exciting new bass amp, the new Elite series jazz bass and visiting with good people."

Que restart of the ''exciting new bass amp'' wish list:

Mute button,
Tuner output,
Flexible amp/speaker connections on combos,
Master Volume controls Effects Return,
. . . What else?

Hey F.M.I.C. How about a new V4 210 &115 cab with a built in slide in rack or compartment for interchanging the r200 to the r500 head to cabs w/ext cab out jacks for existing rumble heads for guys like me ( and maybe SCATABRAIN?).

Some think @Linnin is FMIC. I think he's too funny to be official. Perhaps they are listening to us though!
