Fender Rumble Club

Are you both presuming that I would screw the amp up by not properly isolating the speaker from the combo head?

Or do you think that the speaker will go down in flames even if wired properly?

I am thinking you are both thinking that by virtue of me just asking these questions is evidence that I could not pull this off. I have technically proficient family to rely on and some electrical knowledge but my family will have no opinion on the Rumbles themselves. I was hoping this question would yield answers like, see post 1346 where Jim did this.

Good afternoon, Happy Friday Rumblers! Just finished reading through this whole thread, whew! All caught up, anyhow thanks for all the valuable info here. I purchased a Rumble v3 200c, a few weeks ago (awesome tones), I was in the market for a good sounding light weight combo and this did the trick , love the classic looks! I've already gigged her a few times really diggin' it! Here's some pics, amp cover came in this week.

Ok Rumblers: crazy question. Is it possible to get a 500 head and modify my 200 combo by adding a jack and a switch to turn it into a cab for the 500 head?

*Effects send* on the 500 to *effects return* on the 200 (or vice versa). Not exactly the answer to your question but the best way to handle what I think you want to do.

The 200 should have a pretty decent resell value....

As Linnin said a few pages back you would NEVER put power into the effects loop. Only line level there.

I see you are absolutely set on turning your R200c into a 115 cabinet.
Might I suggest you just buy a 115 cabinet and keep the 200c sellable?
And, I'll repeat here: I really like the R200c with the R115 cabinet connected. Ooooo baby!

The situation you describe only gives my the 200 power. Thanks for chiming in tho.

Likely the driver in the 200v3 is only designed to handle what the builtin power section supplies. The preamp is the same in the 500 head and the 200 combo. Do you just want to blow up the driver to have fun ? Just curious. If the preamp/power on the 200 is busted then just pull the electronics and add a speakon in the back.

There has been a ton of posts on the Rumble 115 cabinet to include a review by @tombowlus. My experience has been limited to the Rumble 200 1x15 combo, but it is the exact same Eminence China made woofer in both. It is a very robust woofer that has a decidedly vintage vibe very similar to the USA made Legend 15's. Very high sound quality with full round tone with a decidedly beefy bottom that is taut - not rubbery; flabby, or lazy - solid mids and good highs. You would need to spend more than twice as much to get better with the Bassman Pro 115 Neo. Yes they are all front ported designs.

@Scatabrain, from what I've read here in The Fender Rumble Club several times, you should be abled to do what you want, since they are the exact same driver. Right, @Linnin?

Yes, the Eminence 15" woofers in both the Rumble 200 combo and the Rumble 115 are indeed one and the same.

What @Scatabrain wants to do is use his Rumble 200 combo as a Rumble 115 extension speaker cabinet with a Rumble 500 head and be able to switch back to a simple Rumble 200 combo any time he so pleases. Can it be done? Yes, but only if you were smart enough to design the entire Rumble line on your own. Have at it @Scatabrain. Best of Luck and No Soup For You! :roflmao:
