Then Blonde and Oxblood finish options for the Rumble series please!, (and yes, I'd buy another rig so I could have both).Rest assured we are being read from time-to-time by various folks at F.M.I.C.

You could do that on your own. Then Blonde and Oxblood finish options for the Rumble series please!, (and yes, I'd buy another rig so I could have both).
I just checked out Fender.com and Blonde & Oxblood is no longer an option in their Bassman Pro line. I guess it just wasn't selling well enough.![]()
P.S. a matching head?Just curious about 99z3's blonde rumble stack (subs). To me, these seems rare. I didn't know rumbles of any kind existed in 95-97 let alone subs. If these were still in production and sounded killer with the brown face fenderbassman/blonde and oxblood, it would seem to be a awesome rig by todays standards. Looks alone is cool-but tone with all three? I'd bet they'd sell.

Yes, the very first Fender Rumble was a Fender Custom Shop offering consisting of a 300 watt all tube head designed by Bruce Zinky with a Bill Hughes (he designed the SVT for ampeg in 1969) power section. It garnered the nickname of 'The Hibachi' because it got so hot you could cook on it. The rig came with a pair of 410 cabinets one of which was a dedicated sub-woofer. It was $3,000+ .Just curious about 99z3's blonde rumble stack (subs). To me, these seems rare. I didn't know rumbles of any kind existed in 95-97
The Super Bassman you ended up with is a far superior amp.It did have one, but the guy sold it on evilbay!

No fan cool? $3000+ back then? WOW! Oh I forgot, custom shop not massed produced.Yes, the very first Fender Rumble was a Fender Custom Shop offering consisting of a 300 watt all tube head designed by Glen Hughes (he designed the SVT for ampeg in 1969). I don't think so. I just hooked up my eden WTDI preamp eq/di> to markbass compressore for sweetness thru the r40. May check your pedal or cables?I bought a lightly used Rumble 40 a couple weeks ago to use as my home practice amp. It sounds very good with no effects through the speaker and headphones, but when I engage my dirt pedals it sounds very fizzy, in a not-so-nice way. The fuzz sounds especially bad.
Is this just a problem for this model, or would I be better off with a 100 or 200 and the deeper tone they create?
Then it's your pedals and not the amp. You are going to have to re-tailor your pedal settings.but when I engage my dirt pedals it sounds very fizzy, in a not-so-nice way. The fuzz sounds especially bad.
. Glen hughes- hi end amp tech/builder. I haven't tried any dirt yet only heavy o/d. you maybe right tho. It's definitely not pedals or cables. I have to turn the filter on my duality all the way down to make it sound close to bearable. It doesn't like any dirt, not even running a Big Muff straight in on it's own. Even though it's a totally different beast, the SVT loves my chain.
I've been told that Bill Hughes left ampeg because he didn't like where the company was headed. How true this is I do not know. I do know that he ended up at F.M.I.C. as chief engineer and is now retired.. Glen hughes- hi end amp tech/builder. Same guy as in hughes and kettner I guess.
