Fender Rumble Club

Question for those using the 200. Does it hold up in loud, I'm talking loud, bands? Playing with a heavier classic rock group and the drums are pretty overpowering. My 100 combo can just barely be heard clanking along.

There's a too good to be true deal on a 200 head fairly close to me I wanna check out, but wanted some input from others who play with a loud drummer.

I'll probably be picking up a super cheap peavey 115 to use for now til I can sell my 100 and buy better cabs. And I think the peavey is 4ohms so it would pull the full 200 from the rumble.
I have the 200 and it is pretty loud for what I do, but from what you described, the 500 really might be a better choice in the long run. But a Rumble 200 head would be a great amp for now and a perfect backup head for the future. Especially if the price is too good to be true. The 200 is a lot louder than the 100. I have both combos.

Yea. I'm thinking it won't work out. Just how it usually goes with me haha. But even if I bought it and couldn't use it, I could sell it for twice what they're asking and someone would still be getting it for half of the new price!

And good to know the 200 is noticeably louder than the 100. This was my main concern. Thanks! If I can at least use it and a cheap cab for now and get by at practice it'll allow me to save up and get a pair of cabs to help disperse that air! Would love a Rumble 410!

The 200 is pretty loud. At last rehearsal the group got louder than usual. I felt a little drowned out and turned up. But when I listened back to the recording it was obvious that I was more than loud enough. I need to adjust my positioning a bit this weekend.

Thanks! Good info. So you running just the combo? 140w thru 1x15?

Surely the full 200w thru a 4ohm 1x15 will get me by. Then replace cab later and I'm thinking I should be good. Now just gotta wait on the lady to get back with me about that amp!

Yeah for now. Considering the cab next. Then the 500 head. Just want to make sure I can use the cab with the 500 head. I'm sure I'll end up with 2 cabs by the end of year.

As well as using my R500 combo as intended (and is performing admirably with my MIJ Tokai Hardpuncher), I'm using it with another project with a drummer as a 2 peice alongside my Cornford 2x12 guitar combo with devastating effect. Pic from recent solo practice time messing with pedals and the setup below.
I have the rumble both sometimes dropped an octave via a EHX POG2 as well as straight in. Sounds great with the overdrive with a dropped tuning!

Disclaimer - I do usually have the rumble on the floor, for those ready to protest... ;o)

Question for the Rumble Club:

Would the Rumble 100 be loud enough for a blues trio? Drum kit and a guitarist playing through a Fender Twin at tasteful volume.
Depends on your definition of "tasteful volume," of course. I have the 100 and 200. I could and would easily use either in a full band situation at the levels people can still hold a conversation while talking louder than they would if there was no music. It would also still be loud enough for dancing. With that said, I think the 200 is a better option; you might want the extra headroom sometime. But, the 100 is more than enough for a lot of situations where everyone isn't being way loud. Last night with my 100, playing in a club, I had my gain at noon and the master at a little past 9:00 and my Precision backed off slightly. Good volume for what we were doing.
