NO NO NO linnin, when you say all controls at 12 o'clock- do you mean all rotary audio functions were at a ''neutral linear response setting'' (I'm still trying)Wheeeeeee!
That was FUN!
All controls at 12 O'clock High including the Gain & Master
LOUD!
Experimented a bit with the Overdrive. Used my footswitch to engage & disengage. Set the Level accordingly so the volume was the same off or on.
Not really. Zero cut/boost is not the same as ''neutral linear response setting''. Some have criticized Fender Rumbles for their 'baked in' sound. This is true, and I like it! I have often said that I like the baked goods from the Fender Tone Bakery. I like colored sound, and I especially love fabulous Fender tone.NO NO NO linnin, when you say all controls at 12 o'clock- do you mean all rotary audio functions were at a ''neutral linear response setting'' (I'm still trying).
I like simple. And I must have light. Am leaning toward a Rumble 500 combo. That enough to fill a small church sanctuary and give a full bottom without killing folks with volume?

Sound travels in waves and is never flat. SPL measured in dB is a parabolic curve and is never flat.
You know what is flat? Death! Death is flat. ie: a 'flat liner' in the hospital is the pulse of a dead man. Many have gone to extreme expense to obtain ironing board flat tone and frequency response only to find out (much to their chagrin) that they sounded absolutely dead! No life and no color of life in their music at all. Be happy for colored sound and baked in Fender tone. I am![]()
Is this a small church of say 500? If so then the Rumble 500 is for you. Otherwise the Rumble 200 will be plenty if not more than enough. If you're playing to 60,000 at Lakewood Church in Dallas, just use the XLR out to the board and you'll be fine.I quit playing in 1992 but the kids in my church twisted my arm and got me playing again. The old Peavy combo I had in the attic has put on more weight than me the last 25 years. Just did a deal to upgrade to a new bass and want to upgrade to a current amp. I like simple. We are overflowing at 200 folks. Is this a small church of say 500? If so then the Rumble 500 is for you. Otherwise the Rumble 200 will be plenty if not more than enough. If you're playing to 60,000 at Lakewood Church in Dallas, just use the XLR out to the board and you'll be fine.

I know you were just having fun. That's what we do here.I gotcha-thanks
If you're playing a lot of slap 'n' pop you would want the twin 10's of the 500, otherwise the single 15 of the 200 does the job with ease and sounds great doing it.Many thanks!!
No... The youngsters that twisted my arm and got me playing again keep telling me I need to do that slap stuff... But I think this old dawg is done learning new tricks. I like fat-n-smooth.If you're playing a lot of slap 'n' pop you would want the twin 10's of the 500, otherwise the single 15 of the 200 does the job with ease and sounds great doing it.
