Yes. Using your thumb and fingers in a circle push in & out gently on each woofer where the dust cap meets the cone. If you feel any scraping of the voice coil that's bad. If your drivers were truly blown/damaged, you would hear it all the time even at lower volumes.
Gently push in on the speaker to feel if there is any rubbing or scraping. That is for the coil though, a weakened spider may not cause any rubbing or scraping, but the speaker won't have as tight a suspension as it should. If both don't feel the same, then one might be going. If both feel the same, then I guess you would have to compare it to another one to be sure. The fact that this was a rather sudden change after unsuccessfully using a fuzz does point to some mechanical damage being done. It will first manifest itself in farty lows and no electrical damage to the coil is necessary. Farting where there was no farting before, is not speaker break in, otherwise nobody would want their speakers broken in.
True for blown voice coils, but the mechanical piston (spider) can be damaged where it does not show on lower volumes or with lows taken out. I once "blew" the 2x8 of a peavey 1516 messing around with my swr head running full range into them at high volume. OOPS! Still sounded OK when used with the crossover. The 10s in an 1810/1820 can handle it, but those 8s, not so much.
The speaker with less tension might be the culprit. Keep monitoring it to see if it gets worse. Would be a good idea to take the grille off and watch them as you sustain a low note and turn up the volume, a speaker with a bad spider will tend to overextend and fart while the good one wont.Hey guys,
So I double checked the speakers... still no signs of physical damage.
I took Linnin and ubernator's advice and pressed down on the speakers to check for rubbing or scraping .. nothing there. I did notice though, that the top speaker moves with a little bit less tension or "stiffness" than the bottom one does. The difference however, seems to be extremely minimal and very slight.
I'm going to take the advice of lowering my boosts on the EQ and see how it goes from here. I'll be using it at higher volumes this coming Tuesday at practice, so I'll see how it goes then and keep everyone updated.
The good news, like many have mentioned, is that I'm still under warranty and there's a Fender authorized repair shop like 5-10 miles from where I live here in St. Pete Florida.

It is not unusual to go into subtractive EQ at high SPL. What I noticed is that your bass, lo & hi mids were boosted to 2 o'clock and treble at 4 o'clock. You get the same EQ if you simply boost the treble to 2 o'clock and leave everything else flat.
And it should, as you always EQ for room you're playing.
We have quite a bit of that around here.
Once topped the alt country chart on a college radio station, and we were a neo rockabilly/blues/surf sounding band at the time, go figure. That held for a couple weeks maybe. We did open for hank III and dick dale, and played on mostly rockabilly and psychobilly bills. And cowpunk, lots of cowpunk. Red eye gravy, scotch greens, cool regional bands about 15 years ago, don't think they are still around. The rumble would have looked perfect then, but I was shamelessly rocking the swr. Would do it again in a heartbeat, but the main dude is in prison and I think the drummer wouldn't be interested anyway.
It really has become a big deal, and unfortunately more expensive each year. Floyd is a small town south of Roanoke, and it became very bohemian with various artists and musicians moving in for cheaper living yet easy drive to either Roanoke or Blacksburg (Va Tech) for employment. I'm about 100 miles north in the middle of the Shenandoah Valley.
