Fender Rumble Club

Greetings @Suink141! Welcome to TalkBass. Excellent first post and question. You have certainly come to the right place. The answer is YES! A Fender Rumble 500 combo will both meet and exceed all of your pop/punk bass tone needs. Plus it will do a whole lot more too. The modern active EQ section is the very best there is. Rumble On!

Thank you for answer! The world of amps its so big and so hard to make a final decision

Hello all! Im new here. Im just looking to buy a combo amp and ive a few question for you. Im playing in a pop punk band and i dont know if a Fender Rumble 500 Combs fits good in terms of sound or its too vintage for pop punk sound. For a combo amp Im between Funder Rumble 500 and GK Mb210 II. Will the Fender Rumble do good with pop punk sound? Gk is better for that sound? Im open to hear more opinions about others combos for pop punk sound.
Thanks.
I have gigged regularly with the MB212-ii, yes its a great beast of an amp that would certainly work. However with the GK eq/tone wise, you typically get various shades of GK. The Rumble will be more flexible and can be eq'd pretty close to the GK scooped type tones and can also get warm, traditional tones that the GK doesn't do well.

Hi, any chance I can join up as well? I am new to TalkBass, but I am the proud owner of a Rumble 200 combo. Love the sound, flexibility, light weight, and basically everything about it. Planning to add a Rumble 115 cabinet to it at some point.
You bet. Welcome to TalkBass and the very best neighborhood in TalkBassLand, The Fender Rumble Club.
You are #693. Rumble On!
Post a pic of your rig and tell us how you use it.

Here is a pic of some of my rig. I keep the Rumble 200 combo on its side to leave room to hang some guitars on top. Put another set of rubber feet on that side. I am just getting back into playing after taking a 25 year "break". I was primarily a guitar player during my pro days (1978-88). Now I am focused on the bass and having a blast. Mostly just play at home, often using the Rumble feature of the aux in for mp3. I do have a drummer friend that I have started jamming with, which is a lot of fun. Who knows where it will lead, just having a good time with it.

Very cool. Loving that old Mosrite guitar.

Anyone have any experience playing a guitar head through a Rumble cab? Or playing guitar through Rumbles in general?

I'm fairly sure I'll be making the move to head and cab soon, and I'm fairly set on a Rumble 210 cab as far as bass is concerned. I've had nothing but good experiences out of my combo.

I've recently been playing a lot more guitar, and I was curious if I could get by with the one cab and two heads (one for bass and guitar). I didn't like the way the guitar sounded through the combo amp, but that would've run through the preamp, bass EQ, etc.

Thanks!

It is weird you ask this since I had wanted to post something similar. In order to justify getting a 115 cab for my 500C, I wondered if the 115 might be an interesting alternative to the 12" H & K cab that I use on my guitar head (H & K Grandmeister 35).

You didn't say what cab you have on order, so it would be hard to compare. Also, what is the cost difference between the one on order and components to build one?

MarkBass 210 is on order, but I'm looking at something like $100 less for the fEARful, plus shipping for the MB.

I just want general experience or opinions rather than comparisons, but I guess they can't hurt either.

if I hadn't started playing guitar again, I wouldn't be worried about it. I just want to know if I should be looking at just an amp head for the guitar or a combo.

I've got a friend that plays in a downtuned metal band through a guitar cab and a 115 bass cab. He really likes the chuga-chugs he gets through it. I don't play any new metal, so I've really got no idea outside of that.

Sorry, I have no experience with the Markbass. I have a Rumble 2x10 I use with my 500c to give me 4x10 and it is an excellent cab for the money.

It is actually a Univox copy of the Mosrite, made sometime in the mid 70's. I bought it in '82 from another college kid for $60. I have always loved how it plays and sounds, so never got rid of it. Used it in many bands back in the day, so lots of memories.
I was in a band in the 90s with a guy who collects and trades vintage guitars and basses. He had a Mosrite hollow body bass I used a couple of times.
