Strap yourselves in, I have something negative to say about Fender products. Two things actually! Yeah, I know - crazy, right?
First, I was practicing with my 5string and noticed a very annoying hum from my FENDER rumble whenever I moved the cable about. My FENDER cable was connected to my FENDER (well, OK, Squier - but BY Fender) bass. I switched to my Ibanez and, though it seemed to lessen, it was still there. Frankly, I think it's just a dodgy cable - but my other cables were out in the garage and when it wasn't moving it was fine so I've not verified that yet. But it's my FENDER cable and pretty new! Horrors!
The second thing is my FENDER strap. It's too short. Yes, I know how to adjust guitar straps. But I think that's the problem. I bought a guitar strap, not a bass strap. But it's FENDER. It should, like, know or something.
I was thinking about switching to my no-name strap, but this one says FENDER on it. I need a strap extender!
Reminds me of a band I saw recently at a casino in Coconut Creek, FL. Metal 3 piece band who frankly rocked very well. And they definitely looked the part. Muscles, long hair (except the drummer who appeared a bit older and wore one of those hide-my-receeding-hairline bandanas) and looked like they would kick each other's ass after the show! But that bass player... damn! I swear he was playing it at knee level, and this was a tall dude! I don't even know where you'd get a strap that long. I mean, I've seen players who look like they're fiddling with their privates, but this guy was literally playing at knee level! Unfortunately if I HAD a strap that could drop that far, my rotundity would push it out about 4 feet I figure so I couldn't reach it due to that probably.
Ok. Nothing to see here. Silliness I just wanted to post. But it's Fender silliness so it's ok.
(Oh, and btw... Linnin. Tell us how you REALLY feel about Mark Bass products. Stop holding back!)
