Fender Rumble Club

It was cool because of what it was. It wasn't anything special as far as playing goes. It was just that it was iconic of the surf music days. The Ventures endorsed them.
I have seen other people say the same thing on line, that the actual Mosrite Ventures model guitar is not that great, nothing to write home about. But they sure sell for a lot. I think Ricky Wilson used one on the first couple of B-52's albums also.

Strap yourselves in, I have something negative to say about Fender products. Two things actually! Yeah, I know - crazy, right?

First, I was practicing with my 5string and noticed a very annoying hum from my FENDER rumble whenever I moved the cable about. My FENDER cable was connected to my FENDER (well, OK, Squier - but BY Fender) bass. I switched to my Ibanez and, though it seemed to lessen, it was still there. Frankly, I think it's just a dodgy cable - but my other cables were out in the garage and when it wasn't moving it was fine so I've not verified that yet. But it's my FENDER cable and pretty new! Horrors!

The second thing is my FENDER strap. It's too short. Yes, I know how to adjust guitar straps. But I think that's the problem. I bought a guitar strap, not a bass strap. But it's FENDER. It should, like, know or something.

I was thinking about switching to my no-name strap, but this one says FENDER on it. I need a strap extender!

Reminds me of a band I saw recently at a casino in Coconut Creek, FL. Metal 3 piece band who frankly rocked very well. And they definitely looked the part. Muscles, long hair (except the drummer who appeared a bit older and wore one of those hide-my-receeding-hairline bandanas) and looked like they would kick each other's ass after the show! But that bass player... damn! I swear he was playing it at knee level, and this was a tall dude! I don't even know where you'd get a strap that long. I mean, I've seen players who look like they're fiddling with their privates, but this guy was literally playing at knee level! Unfortunately if I HAD a strap that could drop that far, my rotundity would push it out about 4 feet I figure so I couldn't reach it due to that probably.

Ok. Nothing to see here. Silliness I just wanted to post. But it's Fender silliness so it's ok.

(Oh, and btw... Linnin. Tell us how you REALLY feel about Mark Bass products. Stop holding back!)

Yeah for crotch level playing you are going to have to look elsewhere.

Fortunately you have a lifetime warranty. Just take it into any authorized Fender dealer and exchange it for a new one.

Oh man.... I stayed home yesterday from work to finish up a plumbing project at the new house. I decided to get some early morning practice in before swilling the usual gallon of black coffee. I have my first jazz gig as a bassist next Friday...so I am practicing furiously. So, groggily I plug in the cable to my Bongo and turn on the amp. NOTHING. i FREAK FOR A SECOND...COULD THE VOLUME POT HAVE GONE OUT ON MY NEW bONGO????

I check it..no way. The amp is icily silent. Damned...abject terror sets in. Mt Rumble is fried and I have a gig this weekened and the jazz gig next week. CRAP!!!!

...oh, wait a sec...I didn't plug the cable in all the way into the Bongo. Damned Rumble.

Its what the old time radio operators used to call "a short circuit between the ears."

Hello all! Im new here. Im just looking to buy a combo amp and ive a few question for you. Im playing in a pop punk band and i dont know if a Fender Rumble 500 Combs fits good in terms of sound or its too vintage for pop punk sound. For a combo amp Im between Funder Rumble 500 and GK Mb210 II. Will the Fender Rumble do good with pop punk sound? Gk is better for that sound? Im open to hear more opinions about others combos for pop punk sound.
Thanks.

Definitely good for pop punk. The only GK that does that sound is the 400rb and 800rb pushed hard (so not at low volume). Ampeg svt type mild overdrive with some sparkle on top. The rumble can do that no problem. I used my rumble 200 combo with an ampeg 210 (the cheap one from the micro cl) in a pop punk band last year. I sold the ampeg, now I have the rumble 112 cab.

The 500 could handle it on it's own. Oh and GC and MF have a 20% off deal I hear.. Time to strike. Pick up a 210 or 112 too, for the bigger/outdoor shows

The 500 watt power section in the fender would probably be more than enough for your needs. Your limiting factor will be speakers. You should really be targeting a pair of 15's or a pair of 210's/410.

It's amazing what happens when you add a cab to one of these... Even the little 112. But they do pretty well on their own to start out with. Even the swr redhead would fart out way quicker than a rumble 500. And this I know from trying to use my bass350 with a Goliath II Jr by itself a few times (same power section/cab). Had I known how awesome the 210 box was, I would have scratched the extra $100 at the time to get the 500 instead of the 200, because my experience has always been 115 is better on its own than 210. The rumble 210 combo is a much better design than the side by side Goliath Jr style cabs.

And the rumble 200 is no slouch either despite the seemingly low power rating, but an extension cab is needed to really hit hard.

I ordered the 500 head and 210 cab for that same reason.....this way down the road I can easily add another 210 or whatever. This will be my "small stage" rig, so ill probably stick with a single 210 for now. However I realize it will be pretty low to the ground and will need someway get raise it up a bit.

I'm doing the same thing. I've got a head on the way that I'm getting a 210 cab for. I've got a 200, so I'll be roughly doubling my wattage for now, and I'll be able to double it a second time should I get a second cab. That would put me at 575w through 4 10's. Surely that would be all the power I'll ever need. As it stands now, I'm at ~100 watts out of the 200 combo through a 15" speaker.

The 200 is the biggest Rumble my local GC carries so I have not played through the 210 yet. Im assuming it will be a bit punchier or tighter than the single 15?
