I'm not sure if Johnny Ramone endorsed them, but I'm also not sure if he ever played anything other than a Mosrite:

The 200 is the biggest Rumble my local GC carries so I have not played through the 210 yet. Im assuming it will be a bit punchier or tighter than the single 15?
Thanks Dav..I'll give that a run. Yes please on the number. Mate, after dragging my Hartke cabs up stairs I'm already loving the 17 kilos of goodness!I see you don't have a number. I have one for you if you want. Be prepared to love that 500. If you're looking for Motown, @Linnin posted this for getting the B15 sound, which is quintessential Motown:
"
Started with Gain and all tone controls dialed down to 7 o'clock or 0 if you will.
Contour voicing: ON Vintage voicing: ON. Master Volume: High Noon
Added: a smidge of Treble (not too much) 8 o'clock; a dash of High Mids (about 8:30 or so), Bass & Low Mids both at 9 o'clock
Adding Gain brings the heat. I brought it up a tad to just under 9 o'clock, any more is excessive, and I also like it with Gain fully diminished."
For what it's worth. I have 3 squires in the quiver. A fret less J that plays and sounds good, but the pickups could be a little warmer. I have a deluxe active jazz V which is great, build and electronics wise. I also have a 5 string passive P, which I have been enjoying but will have to replace the pickups in (1/4 pounders most prob). All the basses are very playable and finish quality high, just the (passive) pickups have let me down (btw did the same mod to my sons Mexi J - maybe I'm a Seymour Duncan addict?). Anyway hope it helps!I know the Squires used to have a bad name, but I believe they have improved a lot, from what I've read and my own limited experience anyway. It is Indonesian made.
Welcome Rumbler # 694. Don't you almost feel guilty getting that much sound out of that small, light package? Thanks Dav..I'll give that a run. Yes please on the number. Mate, after dragging my Hartke cabs up stairs I'm already loving the 17 kilos of goodness!
Not really. The sound of the two is far more similar than not. The Rumble 500 combo's twin 10's do give you the virtue of coupling effect where any single driver can not. There have been quite a few Rumble Club members that put a Rumble 500 combo atop a Rumble 115 cabinet with good results. There is no reason why a Rumble 200 combo could not be stacked atop a Rumble 210 cabinet with equally stellar sonic results. It will look exactly the same as a Rumble 500C + 210 stack. You just won't have the same amount of headroom or SPL. Otherwise you will be moving a about the same amount of air, and the dispersion characteristics will be similar with the nod going to the 15 for smoother broader delivery of the entire midrange. If I had a Rumble 210 handy, I'd surely give it a go!The 200 is the biggest Rumble my local GC carries so I have not played through the 210 yet. I am really ticked today. Did not get to turn my Rumble on yesterday. First day I have missed in a couple of months. Had some major plumbing issues to straighten out and my daughter's car broke down in Savannah. Somethings come before practicing....Daughters and having a place for the wife to crap rank higher.
Happy Fender Friday!

You are a lot more committed than I am. I've probably practiced about 50% of the days the last couple months. It's been a while since I went say 90 days in a row playing bass. I may challenge myself to that when my new head and cab gets here. I'll have fresh strings too, so no excuses.
Last one with the combo. I'll have to play her out in style.

That's reasonable. You either have talent or you don't.Seriously though...I am trying to get my bass chops up equal to my sax chops by the end of 2017.

Rent your wife a port-a-potty, call a taxi for your daughter, and get back to practicing like you should.I am really ticked today. Did not get to turn my Rumble on yesterday. Shouldn't be a problem, don't you know bass is really easy and anyone can do it? Guitar players have been telling me that for years.Yeah! I am on an impossible mission. I will practice until I can play like Jaco...which means I while never quite practicing. Lololol
Seriously though...I am trying to get my bass chops up equal to my sax chops by the end of 2017. It is a very serious challenge but I have a crazy idea ......so I need to be equal on both by 2018.

Get a drummer too. Morphine.I have a music goal that involves both the sax and bass at the same time.

I have two brothers and a nephew who are monsters on sax. I find all the buttons and levers intimidating. It is cold enough to safely squat in the marsh without fear of getting a gator bite on her arse.
I know what you mean about people thinking the bass is second. That infuriates me...even before I played bass. One of my favorite things in small jazz groups is playing with just a bassist...no one else. Bass and sax for a chorus or two before the band joins in. I have a hard time deciding which I like more--bass or sax. It is a toss up.
Do you find that certain runs, like a be-bop line, are more or less difficult on a 4-string fretboard? Ive always thought a 4 string bass would be physically more restrictive to play than a sax....true/false?...I am trying to get my bass chops up equal to my sax chops by the end of 2017.
