Fender Rumble Club

Yeah, that was a ridiculous price! Most SDOTD's aren't nearly that good. Must have been sitting on a bunch of old stock or something.
Possible discontinuation. Bassman 610's were quietly discontinued last year, and simply allowed to sell out. Bassman 410's and 115's must be what are in demand and selling. I wonder if a Bassman 212 is in the future? We'll know soon enough.

Just checked-sold out! (Thank God, wife would have a fit.) Need one of these like I need another cat. Checked other retailers, GC and SA at $1,499.

I just called also, just in case, but it's definitely sold out. They clarified that this was the NON-NEO Bassman 810 normally sold for $1,399.99 (I didn't realize there was such a thing), NOT the neo normally sold for $1,499.99. So, must be an older model discontinuation. (sigh) I'd have still taken it in a heartbeat.

My Santa, aka Mrs. -Dog, agreed with me when I showed her. She got a much better discount on the Bassman 500 last week than I could get on ANY Bassman cab today. I'd have been happy with another 115 at a similar price. But, NOooooooo! They're not so willing to deal now. Must've had a very good week last week.

:rollno:

its either going to be two 410s or a 410+210 situation. I'm dealing with two half stack 100W tube guitarist and a loud as heck drummer. I use to use nothing but Ampeg 810s & the love of my life the Ampeg SVT 4Pro but I'm 45 now my back and joints dont love me anymore.

How would you describe the difference in sound you are after of 500 watts running through 2x410's as opposed to 2x210's

I always wondered why Fender didn't do a Bassman 212 Neo cab. I'm doing fine with the 115 Neo now, so if they did put out a 212 Neo it would take some hard decisions on my part. It's not Bassman 212 cabs are a new concept.

Hmm, not sure whether this will reply to the right thread comment (using iPhone) - thanks Dav/Linnin for the ampeg tone suggestions for the Rumble - close enough I reckon. Overall thoughts so far - light, broad tonal pallette but I will probably need to add a 210 cab,

My experience with the Rumble cabs, is the 210 has more bottom/bloom than the 410. Has to do do with the cab space for each speaker. As far as volume, a little bit maybe, but not so much that it makes a huge difference. I'm really happy with my 210 set up. I got to do a side by side with another local bass player that has the 410, we both agreed the 210 seemed to have a bit more depth soundwise and the volume wasn't that big of a difference . But in the end, can't go wrong with either set up.

More speaker cone surface area = more volume.
More perceived volume. You are moving twice as much air, and psycho-acoustically you will perceive a large volume increase along with better soundfield dispersion. Maximum SPL measured with a dB meter is going to be close between a pair of Rumble 410's vs a pair of Rumble 210's driven by the very same Rumble 500 head.

Yah, ^^^, I see many generic claims of this = that or louder or quiter, that ignore the fact that the comparison is likely to be apples to oranges. Why would Fender or anyone else design a 2xX cab to be just a half of their 4xX cab? It seems it would be best to make the 2xX cab be the best that it can be for the priority of compromises, including form factor for stacking.

Just got a good laugh. I was reading a Craigslist musicians community listing in Savannah:

I only want to work with musicians who know their instruments inside and out. I'm not looking for a 17 year old kid with a Line 6 Spider or Fender Rumble. I don't care about your DDrum kit.

I apologize for sounding arrogant, I'm really down to earth and want something that works. If you're interested in meeting up and talking things over, hit me up.

GEEZ--what a douchebag. I am sorry but I am a professional sax player and I have seen some damned good sax players having to play on a non-pro instrument for various reasons and they kicked ass. What a turd.

ohhh--I forgot--this was in his post earlier:

My current rig is an EVH 5153 and a poopy ass Crate cabinet which I am replacing with a Marshall 1960 B or Mode Four cabinet in the near future. I'm also working on acquiring a power conditioner, power amp and a Line 6 POD HD Pro X rack unit.

The dick uses a Crate and disses Fender. Douchewater.
