Fender Rumble Club

Just got a good laugh. I was reading a Craigslist musicians community listing in Savannah:

I only want to work with musicians who know their instruments inside and out. I'm not looking for a 17 year old kid with a Line 6 Spider or Fender Rumble. I don't care about your DDrum kit.

I apologize for sounding arrogant, I'm really down to earth and want something that works. If you're interested in meeting up and talking things over, hit me up.

GEEZ--what a douchebag. I am sorry but I am a professional sax player and I have seen some damned good sax players having to play on a non-pro instrument for various reasons and they kicked ass. What a turd.

ohhh--I forgot--this was in his post earlier:

My current rig is an EVH 5153 and a poopy ass Crate cabinet which I am replacing with a Marshall 1960 B or Mode Four cabinet in the near future. I'm also working on acquiring a power conditioner, power amp and a Line 6 POD HD Pro X rack unit.

The dick uses a Crate and disses Fender. Douchewater.

Somebody should show up and ask to audition with his Crate rig. Of course you'll need to crank the bass on that rig :-p

He also dissed Line 6 while using Line 6 gear.

People. Smh.

Lucky enough for me, I don't have that problem, but I play with people here that seem much more interested in what the Indian can do as opposed to the bow they use.

Fwiw, I've never had a complaint about my Rumble at any of the jams I've been to other than the occasional "you're too loud" or "you aren't loud enough" or, my favorite, "are you sure that song needed fuzz?"

No one ever seems to gripe about the tone. I've gotten compliments, some folks seem genuinely neutral that there's even a bass player there, self absorbed folks that don't really notice you, but no complaints on tone. Except maybe the fuzz part. But I take full reponsibility there.

I agree with the line 6 spider, those are crappy amps! Rumble has a bad rap for the original ones with the red lights in the ports, and for some reason people associate them as the 100w or less combos.

But yeah, I know the type, used to be one myself.

Now that the system tribute is picking up steam, many people are going to see a rumble 200/112 stack in action. Where a "modern" high power rig with 8 10s or at least a 410 is what is expected.

"That's just a rumble 200? A 12 and a 15? Only 200 watts and you had headroom to spare? Yep!

So I received my 500 head a few days ago and have been waiting for the 210 cab to arrive, I have no other cab at home so having only the head has been rough:). While at the dinner table tonight, amongst the chatter, we hear a knock at the door. Everybody shuts up and looks at each other...."nobody move"....I proclaim loudly breaking the silence, than run to the door to retrieve my major award:)
So far it is a low end beast, even at lower volumes things were still rattling. For what little playing around I did it seems to be naturally low mid forward, and the horn on/off/-6db flexibility is useful. It has a thickness and warmth to it that I really cant dial to well with my GK. I'll get to take it to practice tomorrow and test it at volume, our space has the acoustics of an empty Gymnasium and everything sounds washed out. I'll be curious to see how it cuts, ill do another report after a practice or two and i've adjusted to the eq and such.

I agree. After a little longer date with the 210, I enjoy the warm tones I'm getting out of it. The low mid push sounds good to my ears and dialing the horn back to -6 or off cuts out basically any white noise coming from my set up. Sounds very good with amp OD. I feel like the low-mid focused cab will be tight and hit hard in a mix. Of course, my amp choice factored into that some as well.

This is the life. If another 210 will be this, but more awesome, sign me up. I don't know if I ever got a number, but if I haven't, can I request one? It would be my brother's racecar #.

I saw this while browsing GC's used site this morning and thought this group would get a kick out of it:

So how do you like the 500 hybrid?

It is a good amp - I do think tho for the money - I should have kept the Rumble, smaller and to me sounds just as good for what I do.

Nice light weight and I am getting old so at low volume (which is most I do these days) I think the tube does not get much work out.

I started with the first pic then went to the one with the 500 (no longer have the bass on the right). But now I also have a copy of a older amp I had back a long time ago.

Yeap went back again - I traded in Georgia, that amp is now in California. WOW
