Fender Rumble Club

They're Audio-Technica ATH-M20x rated at 47 ohms. They seem quieter than they should be with my Ampeg SCR-DI as well so that may be the problem. Thanks for the info, I never gave different headphone impedances a thought.

Impedance is one thing, efficiency and good low end response is another. IME the audio technica headphones are not very good, and I had several of the ATH-M30x headphones to use as recording monitors for band members to wear while tracking. Everyone hated them, they were harsh and midrangey with no balls whatsoever. And the ATH-m20x was the step down from those.

Sennheiser HD280 for the win. But at the time I bought the ATs, they were like $39 compared to $99 sennheiser. The 20s were like $29. What did they cost you nowadays? This was around 99-2000.

Another thing about the sennheiser, they actually isolate about 30db of sound, like putting on earplugs or pro IEMs, which really gives a great experience, the audio technicas don't really cover the ear the same. I used the hd280s on airplane rides too, finally could hear all the bass even in a pressurized cabin. I need a new pair, mine still work great but all the black pleather does flake off after years of use. But that happened even sooner with my ATH-M30x's

I don't know what they cost, my daughter bought them for me for Christmas 2015. I had a pair of Klipsch that succumbed to the rotting pleather so she surprised me with a new pair. They've worked good for the applications I've used them for until now. I'll start looking for a new set for bass practice.

Caveat, I have not used the headphone jack of my rumble, I live on a boat and it never comes aboard. I use a vox vt40+ for headphone practice. Ironically the $7 pair of purple ear buds I bought at walgreens a few years ago are what I use now, they have insane bass response lol. I still use my hd280s sometime, I stripped off the pleather and now the pads are white.

The duel with the twin oranges was a win. The 500C is ridiculously loud. They bowed and kissed the Fender God of Rumble's grill.

Hahaha....Seriously though----it was louder than the 2 Oranges. I have been playing the Rumble with the tone flat, vintage on, gain at 9. The Bongo sounds seriously fantastic using just the bridge pickup through the Rumble 500C. I boost both mids on the Bongo--slightly. I am playing some fast tight lines in my new band--and it just cuts through like a saw.

Ack! The back pain thing makes me want to ask if they checked your hormone levels. ER diagnosis are not always complete. My dad had a back pain issue one morning and couldn't even get out of bed. Turned out to be a pituitary tumor. Then again I am not a heart attack expert, but have never heard a backpain connection. Left arm pain is another story. Hope the VA can get you a full bloodwork and check on that pituitary too.

Glad it wasn't serious enough for them to have to keep you longer.

I'm glad you're feeling better and got to the hospital to get treated!
One evening when I was 20 I had a lot of pain in the right side of my stomach. By 2 AM the pain was so bad I decided I needed to go to the emergency room. I had 4 roommates but instead of waking one of them up I decided to ride my motorcycle to the emergency room - doubled over in pain - and they took my appendix out 2 hours later.
If this happens again, god forbid, please call 911 instead of driving yourself. Getting TO the hospital to get treated is more important than anything else .

There was a southern California food truck called "Grill 'Em All." Unfortunately, the truck is mostly retired as the owners aspiration was to use the truck to fund a real brick and mortar restaurant which is an hour's drive from me.

Anyway, you can guess what sort of music blared out of the truck's on-board PA...

One day the truck was at the OC Fair with some others, off to the side by the World's Biggest Horse and other assorted low-draw exhibits. No music. So I walked up to the owner and asked, "Where's the metal?" He looked at me with weary eyes and with a weak grin he said, "Sometimes, after 24/7, you just need a little rest..." I ordered a Witte. Ha! I saw those guys on "The Great Food Truck Race". I had high hopes for them.

In the early days of the Fender Rumble Club it was very touch and go. Plenty of blatant trolling complete with outright character assassination. Yes perseverance against all comers proved our metal in battle.

Against all odds, the Fender Rumble Club flourished. Going from 1 member to 99 in the first year. From 99 to 400 in the second year. And from 400 to a bit over 700. With 811 thousand+ page views and well over 16K posts. Rest assured we are being watched very closely. Especially so by competitors that have lost serious market share to Fender.
