Fender Rumble Club

Ubernator, I've really never had much of that kind of BS to deal with, I've been lucky enough to always have a day job that covered expenses. I could quickly bail on groups being consumed by personality flaws. Though this intolerance for playing with idiots occasionally keep me between groups I did learn how to be a very good cook "o)

We had a good drummer with a great attitude, we where still in the rehersal mode when he went with a working band, kids to support and all that. We decided that we could do OK without a percussionists. At this stage we are a three piece with guitar, mandolin and bass, covering what we enjoy playing, from Hank Williams to the Zombies, all of us have paid the dues and we are just in it for the fun/addiction of being musicians.

I don't know if it's part of what makes a bass player, but I can not walk away from playing with a band or playing for an audience. though I've gone a few years without being in a band over the last 58 years, usually because of rehabbing, learning how to play again and occasionally learning how to walk again.

Some musicians can play and perform without back up. I'm a bassest, the day I played my first bass I knew it, I wish I could eloquently discribe why that is or even what the whole of the instrument is, but words fail me. I know that it has a lot more going on than the right note at the right time, more than just the heartbeat of the group, maybe a little closer to the soul of what music is. To do service to the song is sublime, I believe that's on us, can't explain it, but I feel it.

I want to double tap the like button on this post, so very up-lifting. Shaking the airwaves in those reptilian wave lengths drives right into the soul, that's fo sho! My 5th grade music teacher put me on a string bass where I had to stand on a box to reach the low notes. Mr. Gillison transferred to middle school at the same time I did. I was vamping the b-flat blues on the new-to-me instrument while he introduced me to the rest of the orchestra. His glowing words echo in my head whenever I stand next to an upright. Bass is the place.

my 2 1x12 rumble v2 cabs after an $8 dollars makeover !!! been finding lately that i can get away with using just one in most of the situations and churches i play . i been wanting some red color bass cabs but looking at my options this was the best way to go !!!

That looks really cool. Where did you get the metal grill covers?
yes my 1x12 cabs are the old version ... the V2's ... those came with metal grill , i took the little fender plate off just cause sometimes it would buzz n rattle a bit other than that they good at least for my needs !!! with either amp head i also get pa support and in ears in most almost all situations !!!

I put some rubber tape on the front of the baffle board where the grill meets and also put a strip of black electrical tape on the grill edges and folded it over so that the tape contacted the rubber. No buzz or rattle even at extreme volumes.

Me too, but what do you think is above a strong feeling?

After due consideration and intense reflexion to many potential challengers, some of whom I have actually tried: Promethean, MB 121P, 151P and JB, TC BG250 210, 115 & 112, GK MB210, 115, 112, incl. MBP add-ons, Ashdown 300w and 120w, Peavey MAX 115, Rumble 200, etc.

+ the video by Matt Stottman... that is fantastic and was key to the decision...

At last, my quest had ended....

I have pulled the trigger for a brand new Rumble 500 v3. :) :) :) :)
The Light and Mighty that you cannot go wrong with...
Scheduled to get to its new home on Friday. :hyper: :hyper: :hyper::hyper:

It will replace my big and heavy (not so heavy actually) HARTKE rig (stacked AK cabinets: 410+115). :bassist: :bassist: :bassist: :bassist: :smug:

I will post pictures as early as I can, please hold the line, and prepare my membership card and # ...
You need not wait for a number. Welcome Rumbler #721. We are looking forward to the pics. Rumble On!

Hey--off topic: I screwed up royally last night and plugged the wrong power supply into an EHX pitchfork pedal. I smelled something roasting--but too late. The pedal is non-functional and sound will not pass through it. I am hoping I can open it up an solder a connection that burned through.

Anyone here burned up a pedal with wrong power and successfully fixed it at home?

I used the 200 without the 112 at practice for the second time in a row. The 15 likes to be pushed a bit harder, sounds really punchy and tight. This 10 fan is very happy with this 15. Was using my newly rescued 1993 peavey fury with feshly cleaned strings and it was very punchy and lively. The neck on this is like a geddy or slimmer.

I will be using it tonight for the drop c thunderbirds band, also planning on leaving the 112 in the car and pushing the 15 harder.

Open it up and poke around. It's not like you can hurt it.

Please tell what you did. Did you plug a 18v PSU into a 9v or a 12v into a 9v- or... what does the Pitchfork require?

I plugged a digitech 9V power supply in. I would not have thought it would burn it up---you could smell the burning.
My local music store has another one--I need it by Saturday night. I may have to bite the bullet and buy a new one. SUX.

The pitchfork uses a 9v too.
