Played through it for a good 15 minutes. Still scratchy. But only when the amp volume is at zero and I turn it up. If I already have volume and I turn it up or down, no scratching.

Sure seems like it. Guitar Center had one in stock, so I played around with it- same issues.

They're replacing the one I brought in. If the new one has the same issue, not sure what I'll do yet.

The 210 is better
The 115 will stack OK but not be a match width wise (but will be closer on its side but may need feet attached because of the handle protruding from the side a bit)

The 210 will be a perfect match sound wise, the 115 will add more boom to the low end.

Consider the 112 if you want a size match, not a bunch of added boom, and want to pay $50 less. Plus it is super compact.

210 if you don't want to offend the mixed driver police. Rumble series cabs do sound fine mixed and matched, I use the 112 under a 200c.

Actually this may be the case with both mine as well. I usually don't turn it all the way up or down after initial power on. I have tuner on my pedalboard to mute output so it has not come up.

I have the 200c and a 115 cab. I will just say that I love the sound of 15" speakers, especially with the Rumbles. That is why I got the 200c to begin with and why when I wanted an additional cab I got the 115. Sounds incredible! Actually matched the "sound in my head" that people spend a lot of time and money searching for. But I know that a lot of people love the sound of the 10's, and that is great too. In your case, if you like the sound of the 500c with the 10's then going with the 210 cab might be the best choice for you.
As for the size of the cabs, that was a challenge. What I do is lay the 200c on its side on top of the 115, that way the widths match. The 200c and your 500c are the same dimensions, BTW. You can move the feet from the bottom of the combo to the side (they use the corner cap holes so just swap the screws with the feet). In my case, I just ordered another set of feet to put on the side and left the ones on the bottom as they were, just in case I ever wanted to set it upright when I was using it without the 115 cab. I also spun the logo to make it look like it matches better. See attached pic of the rig in my office/practice room. Bottom line, I love the sound and that is more important to me than how the cabs line up. But I am fine with how it looks like this.

Bob, a lot of people have mentioned the scratchy volume pot. Mine does it too.

I just started rolling the master volume back and forth a few times before powering up and ever since I started doing that it's not been a problem at all.

Good Advice! :thumbsup: Working your controls over the full sweep self cleans the contact of the 'wiper' inside the potentiometer. While it is true the pot shafts are sealed, some Rumble Club Members have reported being able to clean them using DeoxIT from the inside. If you are competent in your repair skills, and are not a klutz, you might give it a go. :thumbsup:

This really good info because I use my 500C on its side and have my Fender 212R on top.

So--I can have the 500C + 115 + 212R for a mega stack???????

Ohhhhhh man do I have some choices.....Now I wish I could hear the 500C with a 115.
