Fender Rumble LT25, Studio 40 & Stage 800

While I enjoy the various presets on my stage 800 I would at times like to use the combo amp as a simple power amp for using it with some various character DIs and preamp pedals as well. What would be the best preset(s) to use those sorts of pedals with the Stage?
Perhaps plugging into the loop return, or to use a preset of say a studio direct input model?
This is a question I have as well. Be aware that I am totally clueless re: pedals and have never used one. But, if I had a ToneHammer pedal, or a Subway DI, or a Noble box and wanted to run it into the Studio/Stage, but bypass the digital processor/preamp, what would be the best way to do this? Thx!

There ya go, tj! Thanks for posting this question here. ;)

My first thought is, yes, use the FX Return jack(s) to completely bypass the combo's pre-amp. You're essentially just using it as a powered speaker. IF your pedal is giving you all the tones and/or effects you want for certain songs, then that's the way to eliminate any of the pre-amp coloring and effects.

But, if you do want some minimal pre-amp tones or effects along with some external pedal sounds, then maybe start with #23 Basic Studio or #24 Basic Tube Pre. They both have Small Room Reverb in their Post Effects and tge Tube also has a compressor. If you want, you could easily make new presets with just those 2 pre-amps without the post effects for very "plain" presets. You could then add whatever Pre- or Post- effects you might want.

Here I must most heartily commend to all the Preset Decoder Files linked in the @Droopy_TX Preset Experience sub-section of the Tone App Support section of the Rumble Club Wiki page for visualizing all the stock presets in great detail. These files are a wonderful way to figure out your own presets in advance of actual setting them up for trial. Most highly recommended to all Stage & Studio users!;):woot:

This is not mine, although I wish it was. I saw this on Facebook and had to share it here. Someone built this beautiful cabinet for their Studio 40 complete with a space to put your bass. Absolutely brilliant!

Is it just me, or does it look like he disassembled his Studio 40 and installed it into this console-stereo-looking cabinet? :woot:

Please post the facebook link. I'd like to read more about it. :eyebrow:

We'll, I've been scouring the groups I watch and can't find it :bored:
How come things I don't want to see on Facebook always pop up, but if you want to find something you saw five minutes ago (or in this case earlier in the week) it's gone forever. :(

Edit: Found it!

Well, thanks anyway, for trying. Maybe I'll be able to find it.

This is absolutely wonderful!
This has the highest wife factor I've ever seen.
I had an idea to build amp and driver in closet wall to save space and not damage living room looks, but this is so much better!

Looking for some opinions and knowledge here. I'm beginning to look at volume pedals and I am completely new to this. A few questions:

1) Do I need low or high impedance (I use an Active bass)?
2) Active or passive pedal (is this what determines impedance? Again, I'm completely new to this)?
3) What's the best way to hook up the pedal with my Stage 800 (Did I mention I'm completely new to volume pedals?)? I use 3 different amp models currently in our set and the volumes are different and also have a couple of songs that I like to adjust the volume on at various points in the song. I have a MGT-4 to change the models.

Thanks for any help you can provide.

I sometimes fantasize about a volume pedal, moreso for guitar than bass, but also for bass. But, I dunno from pedals in general. A google search says things like "a high impedance pedal will work anywhere, while a low impedance pedal will only work with a buffered signal in" and "high impedance before amp and low impedance in FX Loop," but I really dunno.

However, I do know that the Invalid Link Removed will work with your MGT-4 footswitch on the Studio & Stage Rumbles (and Mustang amps). If I ever get ready to put my money down, that's what I'd go with for my Rumble Studio.

Thanks G. I'll look into that. Great starting point.

Rumble Club member 1396 (brand new) checking in here with my Rumble 800 Stage and dedicated old phone for Tone App. This thing is great. Lots of tuning to do but I setup a fresh favorite patch so far with a Simple Compressor, running into Rumble V3 amp model, and a Spring Reverb, Delay and Phase 90 in the loop for adding ambience. Mostly run it fairly dry though.

Also made some fairly horrible loops while learning the footswitch :)

Anyone having a mismatch with the Footswitch patch numbers? Sometimes I change from 101 to 102, but the pedal still shows 101 even though the amp has changed to 102? It seems intermittent but when it happens it will never change, just stays with the footswitch showing the wrong patch number.
