Fender Rumble Studio 40 for recording

Hi, I need to record basslines in my computer, due to the recently COVID situation I can't play with my band, and recently we are composing new stuff. Need to record at home and sent to them.

I have a Fender Rumble Studio 40 and my question is if I can record basslines only with the amp and the computer or I need another stuff like audio interface or something. I have no idea in home recording, need help about it.

How can I record bass with this amp?

You need a recording interface for your computer. Like a Focusrite Scarlet Solo to record anything. You can plug directly into that to record. I do it everyday. Plenty of virtual amps and effects in most of the recording programs, but I tend to go just direct and get a very good sound. I do not use an amp. I monitor through headphones. I have desktop speakers but I really never use them

Thanks for the info, one of my guitarist tell me about the recording interface, I will search for one.

Very appreciated for the help!!!

Ask your question here:
Fender Rumble LT25, Studio 40 & Stage 800

The Rumble Studio/Stage amps are unique beasts and I thought they could go out from the USB port directly into a computer to allow for recording direct from the amp. The guys on the sub-forum above will definitely know the correct answer and maybe save you from purchasing an unneeded (hopefully) interface.
Good luck!

There is no need for a recording interface with the Studio 40. It has USB connectivity, and can be connected directly to a computer for recording. You need a driver to use it with a PC, but Macs don’t even need that.

You need the audio interface for the DAW recording software to have low latency. The basic sound cards in the computers can't handle it.

As other's have said.... this is not necessarily true. There are now many amps with usb out that work as an interface by themselves with the Rumble Studio 40 being one of them.

From the Fender website;
WINDOWS
For Windows OS you will need to install the Fender ASIO driver.

Fender_Universal_ASIO_2_10_F.exe
Once you have installed this driver, you can use the DAW software of your choice, and select “Fender Rumble USB Audio” from the preferences window of your DAW as the input or record device.

What kinda recording software you guys digging currently? Anything free worth checking out?
I've been using Reaper for years now. You CAN use it free basically forever and just have to wait the 5 or so seconds and click the "Still Evaluating" button when starting it each time..... but after using it for a while I was more than happy to pay the $60 for it. I've tried a few other free ones and they just don't have the power or features you get with Reaper.

Focusrite or other DI.. And Reaper or other DAW. I mention those because they're what I use.

My best results come from my amp XLR post eq. But there are many ways to skin the cat... If you want good tone plan on learning at least some basics.. Have fun with it. It is pretty fun.

Rumble 40's quality and latency as a USB interface is very impressive.
Will work fine, if you are having issues get a Behringer as the Midas preamps in them are the best inexpensive pres but everything is great (focusrite, presonus, etc.). You probably won't need anything else.
