Fender sand blasted Precision

One thing I will change on mine is the pickguard. Im going with a pearloid vs. the black one, plus also contemplating an upgrade to a bit nicer neck. I don't like satin finishes plus I like a neck with a good grain in it. Seems like Fender screwed the pooch on the neck quality on these. Anybody who has one like the neck? Of course I know replacing the neck, I lose the serial# and will have to order new Fender head stock logos. Probably lose the uniqueness of it too! I found the pic on the left in the custom shop forum. I like the pearl and the neck too!

The bodies are quite solid. No need to worry about them cracking.

Happy to report the bass was perfect in the mix at this evening's rehearsal. Sounded the way a good Precision should: big, bold, with a touch of aggression, but not dominating the mix. Band liked it, aesthetically and sonically. My shoulder and back were pretty darn happy as well.
