Fender serial number not matching bass model colour?

I’m looking at buying a used bass close to me but when using the Fender serial number lookup it says it should be fiesta red and the guitar isn’t. Is this something anyone has seen on recent models? A mistake in the model and serial number? I was a little concerned someone switched the body with a Squier body. Here’s the pictures from the listing in case it helps. Thanks.

I'm not en expert by any means but the body does not look original to me. It looks reliced, not naturally worn. What ate they asking?

By the standard relicing, that looks to be a legit Roadworn Precision. The other color offered was Fiesta Red. These are really nice, well regarded basses. I had one.

That's a good price for that. One of the nicest basses to come out of the Mexican factory...Buy it!

Just a thought...but could someone have previously swapped the neck from the original fiesta red body?

Neck swapped. But body does not appear to be poplar, as a recent Squier 3TS body would be. Likely still a Fender body.

The body on MX15578134 was a relicked "Road Worn" too.

But as you can see, there is a Road Worn Burst just like yours listed... So maybe not?

This is from a 2015 catalog.

They got the '40' and the '03' mixed up on the S/N finder perhaps?

After seeing this, I'd rest easy. Even the wear areas seem to match up.

The PG probably isn't original.

Even @Killing Floor mentions the S/N lookup is suspect sometimes.

Fender Road worn burst body with a Fender Road worn neck, the fake play wear including the fake cig burn on headstock is virtually the same, looks just as fake as the Fiesta red model.

Looks like a plug at the headstock, which it should have.

If you look closely at the photo it looks like the truss rod route at the headstock has been plugged with wood matching the skunk-stripe on the back of the neck.
