Fender Strikes Again

Definitely sucks to have an issue like that, especially when you’re looking forward to a new bass. I’ve found that nearly any bass I’ve gotten benefits by having the neck and frets gone over by a luthier…a well known skilled one mind you, not the pimply faced “tech” hack at a guitar center:)
Except he waited two years to do anything about that "new" bass.

Guess he wasn't really looking forward to it....

Hi folks :)

Can’t return a bass I’ve had for two years.

Of course after two years nobody can return a bass for a refund. (wouldn' that be cool? :D)

That begs the question if , as you state “ left the factory this way “ why wait over 2 years to reach out for Fender’s help?

Don't be so harsh! :poop: happens! There are millions of basses played by folks

who don't have a superfast low action! If they don't solo all the time above the 14th fret, they will never find out

that the neck is a problem child => only a low action setup will show that!

A little buzz can be just a high fret.

Of course @scubajosh77 should (or could) have reacted earlier.

Fender offered a replacement neck (I would have been thrilled :hyper:)...

But the brand new replacement neck for the exact model not fitting the neck pocket? Uhh… scuse me? I strenuously doubt that.

... but the neck didn't fit, said the authorized Fender tech :( (chosen by Fender!)

=> I would have been pissed too! (this is soooo Fender) :crying:

But, and this is very cool a Dakota Red replacement is on the way. :)

Fender has been building basses for a long time! And they still have the same problems.

In 2025 they will likely show up with a whole bunch of anniversary models

featuring a whole bunch of nice colors.

First thing to do when you buy one => take it to a luthier! :D

You’re really emotional about this aren’t ya?

For me it's a laughing and a crying eye, each time someone tells a Fender story

heads up!
