Fender Sub-lime bass fuzz

Got IT.

Scotch's post 149 pretty much nails it.

I tested mine with a Bongo HS, A Fender P5 and a Waterstone 12 String. This pedal is amazing.

To get more specific on what makes this magic is the crossover. I set mine for 2 O'clock on the bottom of the pedal, which, to me, works best for my basses.

Like Scotch mentions: It's Fuzz, on the Muff Side. When you put the big wheel toward the middle, (yellow), yes..it does take on a sweet saturated distortion sound, very musical. You can get Sheehan type howl with it or sweet dirt. It is alot of fun.

Yeah it's big, but you appreciate it moving that knob with your foot.

just wanted to say I picked up one of these badboys the other day. Very muff-like and im still getting used to the controls. Clips to follow (i might mic up for once)

this pedal is big, like really goddamn offensively big in a good way (tonally) and in a bad way (size)

I just became the proud owner of this green beast. For me: After 30 years I just discovered my ultimate sound.

I have my EHX blackfinger do it;s job for which it was intended. Giving a smooth natural compression. I keep it absolutely clean and tidy.. I set pre gain were it belongs : to pick the right gain level for my guitars. (used to overdrive it, to get this wonderfully tube driven overdrive, but these times are gone now!)


And then! I let the green beast kick in. Again i adjust the pregain (keeping the big wheel to the left (green) to have the signal levelled. This time i don't have to adjust it to my guitars since the black finger does it's job) so i only have to care about a (one time) setting of the output volume. Now in ready the dail the big knob and have all the possible level of fuz.. From a sweet warm ringing in the green.. to a monster roar in the red.. Wonderfull..I haven't (yet) touched the od tone or crossover in the back, and i dare not either now, since these simple settings are giving me the exact warm, deep sounds i love.

I tried it with my PB, my mustang, my rick, longhorn.. and all seem to be i love with this thing.

I take it through my '78 Fender studio Bass,(200 watts , tubes, ans 15 inch) with all controls and equalizing set as straight as possible..

I'm a very happy man now.

the crossover bit seems interesting but other than that, I fail to see what is so attractive about this fuzz. the size/weight/general lack of flexibility push it down the the bottom of my list...

Indeed you can't see.. you have to hear it.. but offcourse it's personal taste

It's all about the tone with this pedal. Agreed- the form factor is not ideal. But, if your #1 priority is sound, then the Sub-Lime deserves an audition.

It was delivered yesterday. I just had to post this pic to show just how huge it is, kinda comical! But nothing comical about how it sounds. I haven't spent much time with it yet but from what I've heard so far, it sounds amazing. That could be a shoe box!

I too am running the Sub-lime/VT Bass combination. Me likey....

It's all about the tone with this pedal. Agreed- the form factor is not ideal. But, if your #1 priority is sound, then the Sub-Lime deserves an audition.

How heavy is it compared to a Boss pedal? Size isnt as big of an issue as the weight.

All I can say is that it's not as heavy as you'd think it would be. Heavier than a Boss to be sure, but not quite the cinderblock in your gig bag that you'd expect.

It should be pretty easy to mod these and bring the trim pots out on top with proper potentiometers.

Have you tried it? While the control itself has little travel (probably only 40% rotation), the amount of tonal change is pretty significant!
