In all those 3 matches, Mexico played better than their opponents but ended up losing.

It's six in a row going back to 1994. And of all the matches this is the only one I don't feel bitter about. The first half was even 50/50. In the second half, after Mexico scored, it was all Holland. Mexico couldn't put two passes together. The Dutch absolutely deserved it.

Nothing controversial about it. Robben did dive but it was also a clear penalty. Mexico also committed a penalty in the first half that the ref didn't see/call. As a Mexico fan, I can't complain about the ref in this one.

There's no clear evidence as to where it came from, so to the rest of the world it is the Mexican Wave, in every language. My personal belief was that it started at Dodger Stadium and spread to Mexico during Fernandomania, but I understand there are others who claim they started it. We'll never know.

Robben sold it.
There was no heat on Marquez' step maybe he was late a half second of course the location of where robben fell made it more loaded than if it weren't in the box. I don't like that an exaggerated fall changed the entire outcome.
That and I wanted to see another shoot out

No heat necessary. He was late, caught his ankle, and that's a penalty. How Robben reacts is immaterial. Put it this way, the correct call there was a penalty on Marquez and a yellow for Robben for diving.

Thing is, Marquez didn't belong on the team. He was only their because of his pedigree and not for his recent form. Every Mexico fan knew he was going to give up a penalty or get himself sent off, and it was only a matter of time. The decision to play him came back to bite the manager. Marquez actually committed two penalties today.

The first recorded use of it was in 1981 at an Oakland A's game, but there's three or four people that all claim creation.

Man so much going on in this thread to comment on haha but who doesn't love a active thread. All I'll say is I'm glad this game got exciting now. Was super boring, had the most blah goal of the whole tournament, yet we''re going into extra time and who knows what'll happen. This isn't the Costa Rica that made me a fan though! 30 min to get back into form!

The Greek manager has a thick black bush of nose hairs sticking out of each nostril. Did you guys see that? Why wouldn't someone tell him? He's on TV in front of billions of people and no one tells him to trim that bush!
