FIFA World Cup 2014

What? You still here?

Dammit. I guess those mutant snake-croc-piranhas I dumped in Darths Lake haven't quite matured yet.

Either that or they saw you and got a bit concerned about their cholesterol levels.

I guess I'll have to talk to Mrs H about plan B.

Now now. This is a time for grace, Titus. Surely there's a hint of class buried somewhere in that shapely bod of yours, yes?

What's all this then?

I thought you were an egg chaser? I understand chipping in to the WC thread, but you are in danger of being taken seriously as a football fan.

Choose. You can't do both.

Meh, I follow some league level football and try to catch the interesting Scotland international games (against teams I'm familiar with and those that we might have a snowball's chance in hell of winning, so, not many). I dare say that could be changing though, it has been hard to be excited about Scottish football for quite some time :p

Egg chasing is still the preference though, bring on 2015!

This egg chaser still did better than you in the prediction game, thought you were meant to be some sort of football guru? :p

It's a guessing game, otherwise you'd have all put your money where your mouths are and be collecting your winnings.

My 9 year old daughter picked Germany as winners from nothing more elaborate than pin the tail on the donkey.

My dog predicted England wouldn't get out of the group stage based on how many pigs ears he ate in an hour.

So no...no grace here.

I've never even been to a rugby match, and I won a few quid a couple of years ago by just randomly picking a team to win some competition or other.

That was proper rugby though. 'Rugby League' I think it's called. You know...the game that doesn't stop every two minutes so big men in tight shorts can have a cuddle.

Ah, touch rugby, the one for people who were afraid of getting hurt during a game. League players are crap at competitive cuddles.

But you should go to a rugby match sometime, you might enjoy it. No segregated fans so you get plenty of banter and you're even allowed to drink in the stadium, the things you can enjoy when watching sport like an adult :p

IIRC correctly, a cross-code challenge about 10 years ago resulted in the league team destroying the union team at league, but the union team only narrowly beating the league team at union.

Maybe you can enlighten me?

All sports are one when it comes to Scotland v England.....its part of our birthright to become instant experts on any sport that is played between the two countries and to be allowed to turn up signing, commenting expertly and watching Scotland get gubbed! :)

I am fortunate to live 1 mile from Leicester Tigers, Rugby is our primary game, although the Foxes are now in the premiership.... For this year at least!

The game about 10 years back was St Helens (L) vs Sale (U). Sale won that game 41-39.

18 years back there was a two game series with Wigan (L) vs Bath (U) where Wigan thrashed 82-6 at League rules and Bath beat Wigan by 44-19 at Union. One thing to note is that Bath were essentially an amateur team at that point, Union only becoming professional the previous year.

Fine.
You suck at guessing btw.

TL;DR

3rd place overall, and my pre tourney pick for winner turns out to be the winner (patting myself on the back). By the way, I still hate Liverpool, Spuds, and any team Bitey Diving Rabbit plays for.
