With exception of Kasey Keller, ESPN went straight British for the broadcasts - so I don't know which American announcers you are even talking about.
The majority of the "US announcers" for ESPN are Brits - Ian Darke, Adrian Healey, Jon Champion, Derek Rae, and Daniel Mann. Alejandro Moreno has done some matches as well (he's Venezuelan).
That Argentine commentator is the best, "We have a pope!" "Things will be different now!" "Throw Pele at me!!!"
I think it's been universally agreed that Germany and Holland have looked best so far. I haven't heard anyone say something different. But 'who is best' and 'who will win' are two different conversations.
Yeah I agree, my money's on Germany as well. A lot of goals in this tournament so far; it's been very entertaining, attacking football in general.

I actually stay 10 min away from that area. Was not as bad for the amount of police activity that was sent. But funny thing is they're partially to blame haha
The Univision broadcast always has its post game show. Well they decided to have it live on location at that plaza where there's been a huge viewing party for every game. Of course before the game "we're live at blah blah blah" ,pulling fans asking them predictions, analysis etc etc, the whole time "remember to join us here after the game and have some fun", might have even been mentions of prize give aways lol don't remember. For this reason police had already scheduled a section of Florence ave closed for a few hrs.
Well you invite all these people POST GAME, most in celebratory mode, probably been drinking, and shortly after decide Ok everyone go home lol People in the surrounding LA areas who killed 30 min to get there, spent even more time looking for parking and walking there, spent like 40 min barely there, haha Of course they don't want to leave yet.

Most of the crowds left within first 2 hrs but a dozen here and there where on corners waving flags, asking cars to honk in support of the win. This was enough for channels like ktla and kcal to have live helicopters hovering till like 7pm, 4 hrs after the game lol Must have been a slow news day.
I don't think Holland have looked anywhere near the "best".

I also think Chile can beat Brazil, whether or not they are allowed to is a different matter.
Points will be awarded for results based on the score after extra time but NOT penalties, otherwise if you genuinely can't separate teams and think it will go to a shoot out, you couldn't enter that prediction, but you could get a "scoring" result AET.
So all points are awarded on the basis of the score AET, points based on the matchplay, not the penalty lottery.
