I was at a small-town dance one time in the 1970s where the dance band was called 55 Street Boogie. They did the "Graffiti Band' 50's schtick, you know, leather jackets, greased hair, black t-shirts, motorcycle boots.
The men in the audience were loggers and fishermen, mostly thick-headed dumbasses and drunk too, so they took this band's costumes as serious and thought they were tough guys trying to pull their women. So on the band break, the inevitable happened, the locals challenged band members and some shoving ensued and then a fight broke out between the band members and the audience.
