Oh, it worked great! It was kinda beat up from before the fire, so I replaced the lid clamps with some furniture ones from the hardware store. The internal insulation may have been missing so I threw in some fiberglass batts as I recall. The handle (leather?) was worn, so I stitched some fabric over it to cover it up. And I didn't know about the rubber feet that hold the head to the lid -- it seemed kinda "loose" so I ran some piano wire across the top and sorta stapled it to the lid so the electronics wouldn't fall into the cabinet when the top was flipped. Served me well for a long time, so many decades ago...
