Fire at Fender warehouse in Mexico

Wouldn't they have to up the quality first?

No, not at all. My MIM Geddy Lee bass feels very high quality. Easily as good as any MIJ Fender. And have you noticed how much love the Road Worn series gets around here? Heck, Oteil Burbridge even used one with the Allman Brothers.

Must've been something when the sprinkler system came on spraying water all over the place.
I'd love to see the video!
It's fun for a couple seconds. Then you realize the money expenditure and work ahead.

At the hospital I work at someone knocked off a sprinkler head while taking down Christmas decorations. I'm in the operating room below where this occurred. Half the department had thousands of gallons of stale water come through the ceiling. Really sucked. Thankfully not in any rooms where cases were happening.

Hmm, not quite sure what you mean. Which ones are 'budget MIMs' ?
The least expensive ones...the Player series.
If you want a new Fender and you're on a budget I don't think you'd buy something from the Custom Shop.

Yes, I don't think it would actually be fun.

I had a coworker originally from another country tell me that her place flooded.

She set off the smoke detector while cooking, and then reached up to twist it to try to turn it off.

Let’s just say that smoke detectors look different to sprinkler systems if you know what to look for.
