i love everything about that bass... but I don't know about that tripod... does the bass feel solid when using that tripod?
It moves a little bit (give). I'll be playing it live on saturday, i'll see how it does.
Ah-mazing! I really wish I had the skills (and determination) to build myself an EUB! You planning on building another anytime soon?
An EUB? I don't know yet. Electrics, hell yes.
All you have to do is take your time, do some research, get a tool collection going on and of course a place to do it.
Tested the buffer circuit, works very well. Also, played it last saturday at a gig, nothing but a positive experience. It has a surprisingly powerful low end, that even gives my electrics a run for their money. Gotta pick up a strat style jack plate and 2 pots for volume and tone to get all the "loose ends" tied up.

SEXY UPRIGHT!!! How expensive was it and is the tone similiar to a real acoustic upright? If it was chambered and you got more 'pluck' would it be better?

It was not expensive at all (granted, most of the wood was donated, only bought 4 items: tuners, truss rods, screws/bolts and piezo cable. i made the rest). It's a good thought, but there's not alot of room to chamber it though (not enough real estate).
I will not lie to you, for the most part, it has characteristics of both electric and acoustic sounds (has more to do with using piezo, instead of magnetic), but I'm sure any AUB user here would probably tell me I'm full of crap
. To me, it's better the way it is, I have about 4 maybe 5 gigs under my belt with it, it has way more low end than any of my electrics. If i want more pluck, just a little bit of eq and it's done.
I've been gigging with it for a short time though, MONSTEROUS low end!!!!!!!

Man, i'll tell you, wish i had of seen this a little earlier.Buffed up the hardware (Tail piece, bridge and nut.):
Filed the saddle pieces smooth, I believe I am done with the bridge (for the most part, except for the piezo cable holes through the saddles):
I went through the entire thread looking at the pics and only reading sparely, so, if this was addressed, my bad.
I think it would've been badass had you taken the metal slugs you used on the bridge, hollowed out the original wooden ones, and put the metal ones in there. Getting the strength from the aluminum, and the look of the wood.
Anyway, cool bass. Your original headstock awesome. It's what i had in mind for a bass i want to build (4-stringer though). I'm probably going to steal it man.

Headstock Original? I think it's generic myself, steal away if you must. I have an original headstock now besides (Build #4)
I haven't read the entire thread - and it looks like a great EUB!
One question - will you ever go arco on that thing? I ask because the radius/arc that the strings follow seems to be a little shallow if you wanted to bow... Just curious...

Radius isn't too short of a typical doublebass (of course, depending who you ask). Have used a bow (german) works perfectly fine. Have not utilized it in a gig setting though, mostly pizz.
A short outtake in my partner's control room (We take turns running the studio), going through a song, for a friend of mine's CD. May or may not hear the bass, depending on what you're listening through. I stumble a few times, but then again I'm used to 35" and 36" scales and this being 33.
