First build bass for my daughter

Super cool results jmorbita!
Nice piece of bass your daughter is getting...
thanks!
Amazing! Yeah, not sure those knobs are 100% it for this bass, but they aren't so wrong either.

when I first put the knobs on the bass i was a bit disappointed... Now I'm completely used to them. Still, I will make them finished in nitro and see if they fit better.
The knobs are made out of scraps from the body, but the darker finish makes it impossible to notice. The matching knobs I believe might work a lot better.

sounds like you like it but how does your daughter enjoy the bass?

Lol!! she digs it, but won't play it yet... she just asks me to play and dances...
But she really likes it and says I need to build one for each of her cousins now! (she still has no siblings)
Tell you the truth, right now I'm thinking it's ok if she doesn't take up bass playing and I end up keeping the bass....:hiding:

:D she's 4 now, it is still a bit large for her small hands... I might give it some mojo before she starts actually playing! But I really do hope she starts playing someday.

Felicidades Jmorbitas!

Tú has hecho algo especial para tu hijita y a ti misma. Debes ser bien orgulloso.

Saludos de Los Angeles,

Mugre

PS Hablas bien el ingles. Ojalá que algun día esté yo tan hábil en español.

Gracias Mugre!!!! thanks for your comment, you're right it's something special, at least I like to think so.
your spanish is great, and I'm sure it can only improve!

FWIW, I wholeheartedly and emphatically disagree. I think the knobs are perfect for this bass, thought so right away upon first viewing. Firstly, taken out of context, they have a very nice hue. Then considering the dark streaks in the center of the book match, and the nice dark ebony bridge, they fit right in with the range of color. I really like em. There is a lot about this instrument that whispers, "Carl Thompson" to me. The two small repairs on the back in no way offset the overall beauty of you efforts, Congratulations.

That's too kind of you!! thank you so much!

My friend, i hope that when i start my 1st build this ends at least 1/3 of the good of yours ended, hahahaha, thats a piedce of art, and believe me, you are not the only one with the iwsh that his childs love the fous strings, a hug from México "pibe".

My friend, for a first build it looks fantastic. All your mistake are small and forgivable and the overall look and shape is very pleasing to the eye. Looking forward to seeing where your inspiration takes you with the next one. :)
